Many enterprises hold conferences in Silicon Valley. Evernote is one of these Silicon Valley High-tech and innovative enterprises. Its User Conference attracted nearly 700 people. These include developers, media, independent blogs, and Evernote users. I am the last two roles, but I prefer the last one.
Evernote trunk conference, love fan er translated trunk into "treasure chest", in fact, I prefer "elephant nose", because it is more image, more accurate expression of Evernote as a platform enterprise, hope to connect users with elephant nose.
The conference venue is in the design center concourse in the center of SF. It was not easy to find this venue. After more than five minutes, I got up and drove to Mountain View station to catch caltrain from Silicon Valley at. As a result, parking ticket was not finished for half a day, I could only sit at, so I spent a few more money. Complete the muffin + coffee breakfast on the car (packed from the hotel), go to the SF terminus at, and then walk for 4 ~ Five blocks, turning around for half a day to find the venue. SF's cool early morning, with a burst of sweat on foot. I finally met the venue, and it was a bit lost. Because it is really a very small venue similar to the workshop. SF is still too small, not as good as Dallas, Texas, and can accommodate tens of thousands of people in the conference center.
All the pictures below are from my iPhone 4. Although the iPhone is no more than a single camera, images are three-dimensional and professional, but the advantage is that it is easy to carry and capture. In order not to face professional reporters, I will make a small image!
The opening ceremony was a speech by Phil Libin, announcing the Evernote for business plan. As a platform tool vendor, the enterprise market cannot be ignored. $10/person/month is acceptable and easy for a Silicon Valley startup. Companies that develop similar products will surely die because they do not have the same ecological environment as Silicon Valley.
Phil talked about simple is beautiful. Smart is beautiful. Evernote in the past few years, the number of users and the number of employees have both increased at a rate of 300%, with paying users accounting for 60%. Phil claims that Evernote is committed to building a hundred-year-old enterprise and has completed 4% or more. I was surprised because Internet companies have changed too fast. Let alone a hundred years ago, they have changed a group of new people in ten years. It is indeed not easy to have a hundred-year enterprise plan. The 4% progress table may be a bit silent, just like the download speed of Chinese users. Basically, the download speed stays within 10% for a period of time, and this project is no longer playing.
Phil also took the CEO of Evernote's partner moleskine dead-tree notebook to the stage. This paper produced by moleskine, as well as scansnap and Sony tablet jointly developed by Evernote, are all demonstrating Evernote's ambition to move towards hardware. Dead-tree notebook is actually smart, that is, Evernote smart notebook-no wonder Phil emphasizes smart is beauul ul. I also got a real paper notebook worth $29. Then the founder of moleskine demonstrated how to use this notebook to record and synchronize it to Evernote and perform classification search using stickers. When I updated the new version of Evernote iPhone during break, I performed a demo test on the notebook, marked the note I wrote with smart stickers, and scanned the note with the iPhone, then, search for the smart stickers through tag tags on Evernote. The system automatically includes the NOTE under these tags: action and work. Of course, I can also change the names of these tags and set them.
Jimmy, Evernote's chief designer, also gave a speech (in fact, more inclined to interview Phil) about the design process of each version of Evernote and the design of simple design. Some design concepts worth learning: simple is hard. Simple is beautiful. We want to be powerful because it is simple, because it is beautiful. Emphasize the simple design concept again. Everyone believe design first, then function. Evernote believe design is function. It emphasizes the integration of design and functionality.
The most exciting part of keynote is that Evernote invited a famous magician to perform several interesting magic tricks. The key is that he integrated some magic performances and software development concepts. His speech was magnificent and he talked about many "philosophical" things. Several magic performances are interspersed with them, which bring a lot of mysteries to the speech, help everyone understand, how to distinguish and learn from the magic illusion to help with software development and design.
There are two sub-venues: one is to share some experience with Evernote in daily life and work, including how a restaurant uses Evernote to implement team and logistics management. One of the two sub-venues is the Evernote developer venue, announcing the award team of Evernote devcup. This includes an everclip team from Hong Kong. We may invite this team to our meeting.
