Wireless networks have become the preferred solution for building networks for families and small and medium-sized enterprises. At the same time, because the houses are basically Reinforced Concrete Structures and the structure is complex and diverse, the environment seriously degrades wireless signals. Therefore, when a Wireless AP is used for wireless network coverage, there may be poor signals, data transmission rates cannot meet user requirements, and even blind spots. In order to increase the coverage of the wireless network, increase the wireless transmission rate from a long distance, and make it easy and quick to use wireless to surf the Internet, we need to use the bridge or WDS function of our wireless router.
 
As shown in A small enterprise wireless network, A, B, C three departments if only one wireless router (this paper uses TL-WR841N V5 as an example ), some computers may fail to connect to the wireless network due to weak or missing signals. Solution: Department A, Department B, and Department C connect to A wireless router. The three wireless routers can achieve perfect coverage and eliminate blind spots in the entire region through WDS connection. Configuration philosophy: as A central wireless router, wireless router A and router C establish a wds connection with wireless router B. The procedure is as follows:

Record the SSID, channel, and encryption settings After configuring wireless router B, which must be applied in subsequent configurations of wireless router A and router C. Ii. Configure wireless router. 1. Modify the IP address of the LAN port. In Network Parameter-LAN port settings, modify the IP address to be different from that of router B (to prevent IP address conflicts), such as 192.168.1.2, save, and the router restarts automatically.
 
Enable WDS. After the restart, log on to wireless router A with the changed IP address of the LAN port, and select "enable WDS" in Wireless Settings-Basic settings ".
 
3. WDS settings. Click scan to search for wireless signals.
 
In the scanned signal list, select the router B ssid number, such as the TP-LINK_841_ B, and click Connect ".
 
Router B has the same channel.
 
Set the encryption information to the same as that of router B and save it.
 
4. Disable the DHCP server. On the DHCP server, select "do not enable", save, and restart the vro.
 
The configuration of wireless router A is complete. At this time, wireless router A and wireless router B have successfully established WDS. 3. Configure wireless router C. The procedure is the same as that of wireless router A. Note that when you modify the IP address of the LAN port, make sure that the modified IP address does not conflict with the existing device or computer in the network.
