A friend posted a post in the forum asking me how to pull white peacock feathers in a messy yellow background. The white feathers seem very clear, but when using the channel to pull it, it will find that this is not the case. In each color channel, the color of many weeds is similar to that of feathers and cannot be distinguished by the color order. It is difficult to use a black paint brush to remove the color.
Is there a way to remove weeds in the shortest possible time? We should start with analyzing images. Step by step.

To ensure that the final image is clear, we need to enlarge the image, and then reduce the image back to the original size after the image is completed. Note that the "zoom in" here is not to use a Magnifier tool to zoom in the viewing, but to enlarge the image as a whole using the "image"-"image size" command, and change the unit to the percentage, select "constraint ratio", set the image width and height to the original 400%, and click to enlarge the image. 4

Next, we will perform destructive operations on the image. As this example only treats materials as an image of the secondary design, the background layer is not copied. If you want to extract the feathers from the raw material, you can drag the background layer to the new layer button and copy it. In this way, after the color saturation operation on the copy, we will have a background layer that has not been damaged for future production.
Use the "image"-"adjust"-"color saturation" command to adjust the color and change the yellow grass to green. Increase the color saturation.
Through observation, we can see that after the color saturation command is used, the white part has the smallest change, but the background has a huge change.
This is because pure white and pure black do not change when adjusting the color phase and saturation. Only when the brightness is adjusted at the same time can the white and black colors be changed, the closer they are to the pure white and pure black colors, the more features you have. This step separates the white feathers from the yellow background. This facilitates the next step.
Why should we change the background to green and increase the saturation? This is related to our color mixing mode. Our image is an RGB color. As long as we change the background to any primary color in red, green, and blue, we can make the grass background the brightest in the corresponding color channel, in this way, they are dimmed in the other two channels. Similarly, increasing the saturation can make the yellow weeds brighter in the primary color channel and darker in another channel. The white color is displayed in white in any channel, there will be a channel with the highest degree of separation of feathers from the background, so that we can perform further repairs.
The adjustment is only for this figure. When you create another instance, you can determine the value based on the actual situation. The key is to understand the principles mentioned above. 5

After this adjustment, as shown in tag 1, black and white are the most distinct in the blue channel, so use this channel to create it. Drag the blue channel to the new button and copy it. 6

We can see that the feathers in each part of the image are different in degree. There is a lot of weed information not removed next to the feather in the lower right. Feathers in other places are clear. In this way, we need to create two channels and combine them to make a final image.

Next, we will perform different levels of color processing on the two channels. One is better than the other, and the other is lighter, so that more feathers can be seen. In this way, we can let the two channels learn from each other, retain feathers to the maximum extent, and remove weeds to the maximum extent.
First, perform "image"-"adjustment"-"Color Order" on the blue channel copy, as shown in tag 1. filter out the weeds and you can see that the feathers are also lost. As shown in label 2, the slider is adjusted to the right side, and the entire channel is dark. 8

Perform color level processing on the blue Copy 2 channel, as shown in tag 1, to retain more feathers. 9

Press ctrl and click blue Copy 2 to load the blue Copy 2 channel to the constituency. Press Ctrl + H to hide the selected area. At this time, no constituency is visible, but the constituency works, so that we can repair it intuitively.
Enter the blue copy channel, select a soft paint brush, use white, reduce the opacity of the paint brush, paint where the feather losses are more severe, you can see that the feathers will be slowly added. Note: Do not apply images of weeds. This method can combine the advantages of the two channels and filter out the excess parts perfectly. 10

Press Ctrl + D to cancel the selection. If there are still images with weeds in the end, you can use a soft black brush to reduce the opacity and slowly repair the excess images. 11


This is the general form after the change, and the weeds are almost gone. This step is time-consuming and time-consuming. Only by having more exercises can you improve efficiency in your future work. 12

 

Use the image size command to reduce the image size to the size when it was initially opened. The feather is retained to the maximum extent. 13

Press Ctrl + A to select all repaired channels and press Ctrl + C to copy them. This time we do not need layers to complete the synthesis, and directly use the images in the channel to synthesize the work.
Open the background image provided above and press Ctrl + V to paste it in the new layer. 14

Some may say that the black background is too ugly. It doesn't matter. We only need to change the blending mode of this layer to "filter color" and Black will be perfectly removed. This is also the most common method to remove the black background. 15

Open the girl's image material, we want to pull out the girl's image, I believe that the reader who learns this image is no problem to retrieve this image. You can also use a magnetic cable, use the magic wand to select the white area outside, and then press Ctrl + Shift + I to reverse select and directly use a mobile tool to pull the image. 16

Place the girl's layer on the top, CTRL + T, and press the Shift key to ensure that the character image will not be deformed. Reduce the number of characters to a proper size. 17

Create a new layer between the background and the peacock layer, and apply the shadow slowly with a black soft brush. Shadow is the key to authenticity and must be carefully prepared. The effect of the work is proportional to the production time and energy. Multiple exercises can improve production efficiency in the future. 18. 19
