Excel does not lose equal sign to show calculation results directly

If you need to enter a large number of expressions such as "3+7+9" in an Excel worksheet and ask the cells to display their calculations, you'll have to type an equal sign "=" before each formula, which is a bit cumbersome. Here, the author tells you a method that allows you to omit the equal sign of the input process, the method is:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and the system pops up the Options dialog box.

2. Click the 1-2-3 Help tab, and select the Convert lotus1-2-3 formula check box.

3. Click "OK" button.

Then, when you type "3+7+9" in the cell, the system treats it as an expression and calculates its result. Of course, if your intention is to enter "3+7+9" in a cell, add a single quote before entering "' 3+7+9 '." Also note: If you want to enter a formula that contains a reference to a cell, you can also type the equal sign "=" before the formula.
