One of the problems encountered at work is converting an Excel data dictionary to PDM. But the conversion is completed in English, the original table name, the field name of the Chinese description is not.

And for this problem can be done directly after the powerdesigner15.2, but their own 15.2 is not particularly familiar with, now the following is the use of VBS script written to complete.

I use the Powerdesigner12 Chinese version. The complete instance can be http://download.csdn.net/detail/u010353901/8893593 downloaded;

1 Preparatory work

Tool PowerDesigner 12 (Chinese version), Excel data dictionary, Excel conversion to PDM script (export_model_to_excel.vbs), modify table name Description script in PDMD (field description. vbs);

The first step of the operation step

Open PowerDesigner 12, file--new-->physical Data Model--OK;

Step Two

Click the PDM model you created--Tools-->excute commands-->edit Run script--> Copy the contents of the Export_model_to_excel.vbs into the Open text box;

Step Three

Modify the contents of the X1.Workbooks.Open quotation mark in the Edit Run script text box to the path of Excel, and then click Run, waiting to the prompt "Generate data table structure total *";

The "Generate Data structure Total" appears to indicate that the conversion is complete, but you will see that the view appears. The following action resolves this issue.

Fourth Step

Select the PDM model--database-->generate database--> Choose the storage path and script name (Agricultural Bank. SQL)--OK (remember the location of the exported SQL script);

The generated Files window pops up to indicate the completion of the export SQL script and to remember the path and file name of the exported script.

Fifth Step

Open the SQL script with your UE, CTRL+R replace the double quotation mark (") with the single quotation mark (') to save.

Sixth step

Open PowerDesigner File--Reverse engineering-->database--> Select DBMS for your corresponding database server--> OK---OK, wait for conversion to complete At this point, you can see the view of the corresponding table without notes and field descriptions;

Seventh Step

Open the PowerDesigner tool-->excute Commands-->edit run script--> Copy the contents of the Script (field description. vbs) to the Edit Run script text box-->run. In this case, the field description and the table name description in PDM are converted to Chinese.

You can see the description of the field at this point, where Excel is converted to a full PDM view.

Precautions

1, Excel format such as the table in the document Sheet2;

2, VBS script in PowerDesigner is universal, after powerdesigner15.2 can be directly imported into Excel (temporarily did not learn to use, follow up).

3, the script can be saved to PowerDesigner for later use as the Save party, each time only need to modify the Export_model_to_excel.vb script X1. The contents of the Workbooks.Open quotation mark are the path of Excel, and "for rwindex =" After Excel executes the area, for example, the content "for Rwindex = 2 to 2000" that executes line 2nd to 2000.
