Excel2000 How to set sorting criteria:
The operation shown in Figure 8 and Figure 9 is simply too simple! You can use the sort command in the data Drop-down menu to do things differently. This command is especially useful for lists of data with more content, and it can be very satisfying if you just want to sort a range, because it allows you to sort the devices in a variety of ways, and to have Chinese Excel 2000 automatically sorted. Action, the Sort dialog box, as shown in Figure 10, is displayed on the screen, and the options you can use are described below.

1. Key keywords
Select the Sort field by a Drop-down menu and open the radio button at the right hand side to control the sort by increment or decrement.
2. Secondary key Words
Select the Sort field by a Drop-down menu and open the radio button at the right hand side to control the sort by increment or decrement. If duplicates appear in the primary key column previously set, the repeating section is sorted by the secondary key.
3. Third keyword
Select the Sort field by a Drop-down menu and open the radio button at the right hand side to control the sort by increment or decrement. If duplicates appear in the primary key and secondary key columns previously set, the repeating section is sorted by the third keyword.
4. Header row
When data is sorted, contains the first row of the manifest.
5. No header row
When data is sorted, the first row of the list is not included.
When you use the sort command to sort only one area, the Sort Alert dialog box appears when you entertain this command, as shown in Figure 11.
Figure 11 Displays this dialog box on the screen
In this dialog box, if you choose to open the sort currently selected radio button, the Sort button will sort the adjacent related fields when clicked. If you open sort in current selection, only the selected range is sorted.
Note: If the sorting results are different than expected, there is a discrepancy between the types of sorted data. To get the best results, make sure that all the cells in the column belong to the same data type. To sort, the data you enter can be numbers or text, but you should avoid alternating numbers or text in consecutive cells, and ensuring that all numbers are entered numerically or in text is the key to sorting success. To enter a number as text, such as a postal code or product number, precede the number with an ellipsis ('), such as: ' 610000, or format the column as text before entering it, or into a Chinese symbol, such as: 610000.
