Restore Temporary Files Step 1: Open the computer power or crash before the time to save the Excel file, at this point, the left side of the workbook will appear in the Document Recovery task pane, as shown in Figure 1.

Restore Temporary Files Step 2: In the Document Recovery task pane, in the Available Files list box, click the most recently saved file to recover a document that was not previously saved. As shown in Figure 2. If you have more than one file in the Available Files list box, you can click the documents to recover them individually.
