For various reasons, such as performing planned maintenance, you may need to suspend and resume the continuous replication activity of the database copy. Additionally, some administrative tasks, such as seeding, require that you first suspend the database copy. We recommend that you pause all replication activities when you are changing the path to the database or its log files.
Suspends a database copy of a node.
Suspend-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB01\EX1601 -SuspendComment "Maintenance on MBX1" -Confirm:$False
Then look in the pending state.
Recovering a database copy that has been suspended
Resume-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB01\EX1601
After the restore is complete.
Note that the state of the content index is suspended when the database copy that has been suspended has just been restored, and the status becomes healthy, for a moment.
Note: You cannot suspend the active database copy.
