Exchange Server 2016 Four: Configure mail flow and Client access

The previous article wrote about the deployment of Exchange Server 2016, and although the deployment is complete, we need to configure it to better standardize the use of our messaging system.

Before the server name of our mail server role is written contoso-mail01, if the user all through the name of the domain to connect to the mail server is obviously not in line with the normal use of everyone, so we need to change our visit to mail.contoso.com.

First, we create a new two record on the DC, a record mail, point to the mail server, an MX record.

Once created, we started to do the rest of the configuration in our Exchange Management Console.

STEP1: Creating a Send connector

After we've created the Send connector, we can send our mail to the Internet (but if we create an edge server, we don't need to create a send connector here, the Edge server will automatically create it for us, and I'll show you how to deploy the Edge server later)

Without the edge, we open the Exchange Management console, locate the mail flow, and then select the Send connector

Create a new Send connector in a new window, enter a name, select a type

Add the fully qualified domain name to the address space *

Upon completion, we need to configure our internal and external access address. Configure the external access address first.

Modify the Outlook Anywhere address

In the Management console server, select the server, edit the mail server, modify the address to mail.contoso.com

After saving, go to the virtual machine directory to configure the virtual directory for unified configuration, click Configure external Access domain

Add the server, and then configure the access domain name to mail.contoso.com

After we restart our IIS, we can view the URL of all our virtual directories changed to the domain name at the beginning of the mail after reboot.

To configure the internal URL:

Store the mail server name in variable form
