Exchange2010 publishing a user picture to the Global Address list (GAL)

1. Open the cmd Command Prompt window as administrator and enter as shown in: Regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll

2. Open the MMC console window and add the Active Directory schema as shown in:

3. Check that the Thumbanailphoto attribute value shown is "Copy this attribute to the global catalog", if not, please tick;

4, the employee photos stored in the mail server, the size can not exceed 10K, as shown in:

5. Execute the following command to import the photos to the email account, the command format is as follows:

6. If you need to change the account photo later, please execute the Picture Import command again, as follows:

After re-importing, take the following command to get Exchange offline Address book information, as follows:

Execute the Update Address Book command with the following command:

The client performs the download of the Address Book operation as shown in:

Close the Outlook client and open it again, and you will be able to see the new settings for the account photo as shown in:

Problem

When you import a picture to a user, you will find that even if you update the Exchange offline Address book, the client also downloads the offline address book again, but you still can't see the avatar as shown in:

Troubleshooting ideas:

Since we are using Exchange cache mode, it is very likely to be related to the offline Address Book update time, so we first want to verify that the picture was imported successfully, by canceling Exchange cache mode, as follows:

When you reopen Outlook, you see it now, as shown in:

At this point, you can confirm that the imported avatar is already in effect, leaving the offline Address Book Sync update issue.

Encountering this problem, I found that syncing offline address book is sometimes not used, need to delete the mailbox, reconfigure it just fine, as shown in:
