This article is the second of an open Agile implementation series. If you haven't seen the first one, you should look at it: better agile implementation.
Open Agile Implementation (OAA) is a repeatable technique for fast and continuous implementation of agile processes. Whatever you are doing now, it can work with it and can be added to your work at any time.
Because it combines the power of invitations, open spaces, rituals, game mechanisms, storytelling, and so on, your agile implementation can take root.
An open agile implementation assumes that increased participation increases productivity after a short time lag. The goal of open agile implementation is to increase participation in the part that involves everyone.
The core concept of OAA is through rituals or "Rite of passage". Rite is a cultural activity (also a social game) that helps people understand the meaning of complex life transitions. and agile implementation is a complex transformation.
Here are some of the important events in the ritual:
Opening Ceremony: An open space meeting.
Mid-term: Accompanied by experiments, games and storytelling.
Closing Ceremony: Another open space meeting.

OAA implemented a structured ritual that took several months to begin with, with an open space that would end with an open space and whether or not to choose to attend the meeting. During the period between the opening and closing hours, all the work constituted an experiment. It is full of game fun, and in the closing ceremony of the open space a few months later, everyone involved can check it again. In other words, in the medium term, the team is encouraged to play the game in a specific agile practice and "act as if" these agile practices actually work. At this stage, remind them that another open space is being prepared and that everyone will be invited to participate.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the open space are essential, and thus form the structure contained. This structure has clear boundaries and helps deal with the anxiety caused by cultural change.
After the opening of the open space, other components of the open Agile implementation were adopted in the intermediate stages of the ritual. An agile coach takes over all ceremonies of the entire ceremony. Open agile implementations often use executive stories to help define what is happening and to remind everyone of the goal of continuous improvement. Open Agile implementations use game mechanisms to help communicate clear goals, rules, and feedback mechanisms, and reaffirm the option to participate in agile implementations.
The last point above is critical: open Agile implementation is a skill based on invitation rather than coercion. One assumption of open agile implementation is that coercion reduces participation, while invitations and the ability to choose whether or not to participate increase participation. Another assumption is that participation is essential, while open space helps to increase participation.
