Fireworks MX 2004 brings us new tools for removing red-eye, replacing colors, multiple-style drawing tools, arrow commands, Shape graphics tools, and so on, which include enhanced blur effects, add noise, multiple-fill style effects, system anti-aliasing and custom anti-aliasing, and so on. We will feel these new features in our new experience journey, so let's go! One, remove red eye

The removal of Red eye feature is a new feature in version 2004, primarily to enable fireworks to handle the current popular digital photo work. Let's deal with a digital photo with red eyes.

First, in Fireworks MX 2004, you import a photo image in which the Monkey's eyes form red eye during the photo shoot. As shown in Figure 1-1.

Below we use the magnification tool to enlarge the proportion of the eye portion of the monkey so that we can see it clearly before handling it. Select the Zoom tool in the toolbar, as shown in Figure 1-2.

Figure 1-1 Figure 1-2

Then use the Zoom tool around the monkey's eyes so that we can see more clearly the red eye of the monkey's face. As shown in Figure 1-3

Figure 1-3

Locate the red-eye removal tool in the Stamp tool drop-down menu in the Toolbox, as shown in Figure 1-4.

Figure 1-4

The following parameters, such as the shape, size, pressure, and so on, of the red Eye tool are set in the Properties panel, where we select the Circle, the tool size (size) is 12, the tolerance (tolerance) is 32, and the pressure (strength) is 25. As shown in Figure 1-5

Figure 1-5

Then in the picture on the monkey's red eye position Click the mouse, remove red eye, the final effect such as Figure 1-6, a cute funny little monkey.

second, make the small clock animation with the shape chart storehouse skillfully

In Fireworks MX 2004, a new shape gallery is added, and we can see the new graphics in the style panel, as shown in Figure 2-1.

Figure 2-1

Below we use the clock graphics to make a dynamic small clock, as shown in Figure 2-2.

Figure 2-2

First add the clock graphic to the edit area, then see the clock has various nodes, the mouse clicks in the middle of the node position, will pop up a JavaScript settings window, such as Figure 2-3, in the window to enter the appropriate time, the clock figure on the graph will be arranged according to the time position, indicating the set time.

Figure 2-3

According to this principle, in the first frame position setting time is 13:00, we can add 5 frames, then set the position of the pointer every 10 minutes, and then set the frame time interval of 30/100 seconds. As shown in Figure 2-4, finally play the animation to see.

Figure 2-4

three, easy to draw the arrow

Many graphics tools have the ability to automatically generate arrow graphics, but fireworks has not been this feature, the 2004 version finally has it, let us draw arrow graphics easy to start.

First we draw a simple single arrow figure. In the toolbox, select the Pen tool and draw a line in the edit area. Under the Commander menu, select Add arrowheads in Creative. As shown in Figure 3-1

Figure 3-1

The following pop-up Arrow Settings dialog box, we can see the dialog box body divided into the left and right parts, indicating two directions, we can select the line need to add arrows in that direction, tick add to end. As shown in Figure 3-2

Figure 3-2

Below the arrow Preview window there is a "1/17" option, which indicates that the arrow has 17 basic shapes that we can choose from. As shown in Figure 3-3

Figure 3-3

Here we add an arrow graphic for the line, using the Move tool to separate the arrows from the line and edit them, as shown in Figure 3-4.

Figure 3-4

Based on this design principle, we can draw various styles of the arrow effect. As shown in Figure 3-5

Figure 3-5

   four-dimensional surround sphere

We do a three-dimensional surround sphere effect, and enjoy the new features of the fast fill image gradients that are brought in by version 2004. As shown in Figure 4-1.

Figure 4-1

First, use the Circle tool to draw a circle and lock the current layer. Then create a new layer, draw an ellipse, copy the ellipse, select the Digital Transform command (Numeric Transform) Under the Modify menu, and the warp number is 80%, which is the size of the ellipse 80% smaller than the original size. As shown in Figure 4-2

Figure 4-2

Select the two ellipses, select the Punch command (Punch) in the Modify menu, and the two ellipses are merged together to form an elliptical ring, as shown in Figure 4-3.

Figure 4-3

Draw an ellipse below, but the position is special, covering half of the ellipse ring, as shown in Figure 4-4, and adjusting the nodes of the ellipse so that they are selected and punched along the edges of the bottom circle.

Figure 4-4

The basic shapes of the graphs come out and we fill them with gradient colors. Select the circle of the bottom chart, find the gradient fill in the property panel, and the gradient is circular, as shown in Figure 4-5. Select two tones and add them to the circle.

Figure 4-5

Also adds a gradient effect to the ring, with the gradient being diagonal, and the direction of the two graphics shades to be the same. Finally, add the shadow effect and get the final figure of Fig. 4-1.

    Five, Radiant

Fireworks MX2004 enhances the Blur function in the filter effects and adds three effects in addition to the previous blur and Gaussian blur effects, dynamic blur (Motion Blur), radial blur (radial blur filter), amplification blur (Zoom Blur). Below we use these new features to create a radiant effect.

First set the background color of the file to black, and then enter a few words, we write "Yesky" a few words. The following uses a magnifying blur filter to work with text, setting both numeric and mass to 100. As shown in Figure 5-1

Figure 5-1

In the end, we add text before the text, adding the inner shadow (Inner Glow) effect to the text to get good text light effect. As shown in Figure 5-2

Figure 5-2

   VI. Quick Modeling

Fireworks MX 2004 is no longer a monotonous graphic tool with only rectangles, circles, and polygons, which gives us easy access to vector graphics in order to prepare different shapes for drawing tools. Here are our tools to quickly draw a picture of the night sky, with shining stars and beautiful moons in the sky.

First fill the background with black, and then use the Star shape in the toolbox to draw the stars on the black background, filling the gray and white gradient effects, as shown in Figure 6-1.

Figure 6-1

On the star graph, there are several nodes that pull through the mouse to make other effects from this basic graphic, as shown in Figure 6-2.

Figure 6-2

Through this deformation, the number of edges of the star will also be changed, as shown in Figure 6-3.

Figure 6-3

We don't do complex graphics here, we just thin the stars a little bit. Then add an inner shadow (Inner Glow) effect in the Properties panel, with the parameter setting shown in Figure 6-4.

Figure 6-4

Finally, we copied a few more star graphics, changing the size and direction, covered in black night sky, as shown in Figure 6-5.

Figure 6-5

Then we'll do a crescent moon in the night sky, find the Circle tool (Ellipse tool) in the new graphics tool, as shown in Figure 6-6.

Figure 6-6

Draw a circle in the night sky, use the white arrow to select the node in the middle, drag it inward, and turn it into the shape of the meniscus, as shown in Figure 6-7.

Figure 6-7

Finally, we change the color of the moon to yellow to increase the edge line. Add a halo effect, add a glow glow to the property panel, and the glowing color is yellow. As shown in Figure 6-8

Figure 6-8

Rotate, reduce the direction and size of the moon's shape, and finally get a crescent in the night sky. As shown in Figure 6-9

Figure 6-9

Seven, the dotted line you draw

Fireworks MX 2004 Adds a dashed-line brush that allows us to scribble the dotted effects of various styles, as shown in Figure 7-1

Figure 7-1

With a dashed brush, we can make a lot of effects, such as the border of text, let's try it. First write a text, and then in the property panel to find the Stroke Color Adjustment board, click on it to see a "Stroke Options" option, select this option. As shown in Figure 7-2

Figure 7-2

Then eject the Brush Setting dialog box, select the brush style as a dashed line, and then set the style of the dashed brush, as shown in Figure 7-3

Figure 7-3

In the style of the dashed brush, we can also modify its parameters, get a dashed line of various effects, and finally get the dotted border effect of the text, as shown in Figure 7-4.

Figure 7-4

   Eight, richer filters

In addition to the Blur effect, the 2004 version adds the filter effect of adding noise (add noise), and with this feature we can design our own material in fireworks. Draw a rectangle first, then add noise, and the value is set to 50. As shown in Figure 8-1.

Figure 8-1

Then use motion blur to blur the noise color in one direction, as shown in Figure 8-2.

Figure 8-2

Made of the material, we can add to the fill effect of the text, the following in the rectangular box and then enter a text, as shown in Figure 8-3.

Figure 8-3

Select all of them, select Mask under the Modify menu, and select Group as Mask, as shown in Figure 8-4

Figure 8-4

To see the text effect again, our custom material is already attached to the text fill pattern, as shown in Figure 8-5.

Figure 8-5

   Nine, color replacement

One of the biggest features of the Fireworks MX 2004 version is the provision of color replacement tools, as shown in Figure 9-1.

Figure 9-1

Let's try this new feature to open a picture of a blooming flower, as shown in Figure 9-2.

Figure 9-2

We replace the purple-red flowers with the color of some of the petals into other colours. Use the Replace Color tool, and then in the Properties panel, set the shape of the tool to be rounded, size 20, tolerance 255, and pressure 200. The special note is that we want to set which color in the picture to replace the color, where the change in the preparation of the replacement of the color set to magenta (ink on the picture of the petals of the color), in the to replace the color set to light blue. As shown in Figure 9-3.

Figure 9-3

Use the color replacement tool to color processing on the petals, the processing will display proportional amplification, let us see clearly, according to the size of the petals we change the size of the tool at any time. As shown in Figure 9-4.

Figure 9-4

In this way, we replace part of the petals of the color into light blue, the effect of the entire picture has changed, as shown in Figure 9-5.
