Today we look at Photoshop CS2 improvements in file management, the protagonist is the new Adobe Bridge file browser.
A new Adobe bridge file browser
The file browser in Photoshop CS2 is a new file browser called Adobe Bridge, a stand-alone application that is the control center of the Adobe Creative Suite, and can be used to organize and browse users ' various image resources. Navigate to files for print output, web browsing, and mobile devices. In addition to being able to view your own PSD, AI, INDD, pdf files, Adobe Bridge can also view image files for other adobe or non-Adobe applications.
Adobe Bridge can be run independently or open by clicking a button in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe GoLive.
The Adobe bridge file browser makes image management and processing easier and faster, and adds a number of exciting and practical new features. But it is not easy to use to try to know. Let's take a full experience of the powerful and easy-to-use features of Adobe Bridge.
1, Adobe Bridge basic operation
① boot and exit Adobe bridge/back to Photoshop CS2
Click the Go to bridge icon in the upper right corner of Photoshop CS2
, open Adobe Bridge and look at it, it is a full-featured file browser, its interface as shown in the following figure.
Adobe Bridge can also be run separately as an application in Photoshop CS2. You can find it from the Start menu. So, as a stand-alone image browser to use it, it is also a good choice, because from the next point of view, it can be a lot of features, or it can be said that with Adobe Bridge, can generally give up acdsee and other specialized image browsing tools.
To quit Adobe Bridge is easy, click the Close button at the top right of the window or use the menu command to turn it off. If Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Bridge are open at the same time, click the menu "File->return to Photoshop CS2" (File-> back to Photoshop CS2) or click Adobe The "Adobe Photoshop CS2" in the Favorites (Favorites) panel on the left side of bridge can return to Photoshop CS2. This is true if you open it from the ImageReady.
② switching full mode and compact mode
When using Adobe Bridge, you can press CTRL + N (or use the menu command "file->new window" file-> a new window) to open a new browse window at any time. If you click the Switch to compact mode button in the upper-right corner of the window, you can switch to compact mode, hide the panel, and leave only the content area.
The window in compact mode is always in the front, and no matter how you click behind the window, it is certainly very handy when we work with two applications. For example, when you use Bridge to find a picture, you can easily drag and drop it into Photoshop CS2 in this mode.
In this mode, the menu bar is also hidden, and some commonly used commands can be found by clicking the small arrow in the upper-right corner, or you can use the right-click menu.
If you click the "ultra-compact Mode" button at the top right, you switch to very compact mode, and the content area is also hidden. This allows you to temporarily hide most of the windows so that you can easily operate in other programs, such as Photosho CS2.
③ Save and delete workspace
Bridge Workspace (Workspace) refers to the layout of a particular work area, or it can be said that a particular task corresponds to a specific work space. We can choose a preset workspace, or we can customize a workspace to fit our usage habits. For example, if we often show photos with Adobe Bridge, we can use the preset filmstrip focus (show slides) workspace.
Use preset space
The four preset workspaces in Adobe Bridge can be found in the Window->workspace menu:
- Lightbox (lightweight space): Only show bridge content area, so that users can focus on the view of the image file. The shortcut key that uses the workspace is ctrl+f2.
- File Navigator: A picture in the content area as thumbnails, and a "Favorites" (collection) and folder (folders) panel on the left. The shortcut key that uses the workspace is ctrl+f3.
- Metadata focus (display meta data): Picture in thumbnail form in the content area and a "Metadata" (metadata) panel on the left. The shortcut key that uses the workspace is ctrl+f4.
- Filmstrip focus (Show slides centrally): Displays only the pictures in the content area in slide view. The shortcut key that uses the workspace is ctrl+f5.
Customizing Your work space
If we change the layout of the work area ourselves and will often use this layout later, you can save it as a workspace. By using the menu command "Window->workspace->save Workspace" (Windows-> workspace-> to save the workspace), open the Save Workspace dialog box, shown in the following illustration, in the "Name" ( Name input box, enter the name of the workspace you want to save, and if you want to define a shortcut for the workspace, you can select a key combination in the Drop-down column below. The bottom check box means "Save the window position as part of the workspace." Click the Save button.
Delete Workspace
If you want to remove unused workspaces, you can use the menu command "Window->workspace->delete Workspace" (Window-> workspace-> Delete workspace).
④ set adobe Bridge parameters
To better use Adobe Bridge, it is also necessary to master the settings of the parameters. Use the menu "Edit->preferences" (edit-> parameter setting) or press Ctrl+k to open the Preferences dialog box for parameter settings, as shown in the following figure.
As you can see, there are six major types of parameters, which are briefly described below:
