In the previous article, we introduced how to build a home wireless network. For more information, see "details: How to build a home wireless LAN". Next we will talk about how to build an office wireless LAN. In fact, the two are similar, but the office environment requires more. See the following for details.
Next, we will take a small office network with 8 computers as an example, including 3 offices: Manager Office (2), Finance Office (1), and Studio (5 ), internet access uses Ethernet Access (10 M ).
Step 4: preparations before building an office wireless LAN
For small office networks of this scale, it is suitable to use the peer network connection of wireless routers. In addition, taking into account the manager's office and Financial Office and other important departments of the Network stability, the preparation of a switch and wireless router (TP-LINK TL-WR245 1.0) connection Approach
In this way, in addition to wireless router, we also need to prepare a switch (TP-LINK TL-R410), at least 4 network cable, used to connect vswitches and wireless routers, servers, Manager laptops, and finance room computers. You also need to configure a wireless network card for each laptop in the studio (if it is already built in ), taking into account the USB wireless network card Plug and Play, easy to install, high-speed transmission, no power supply and other features, all adopt USB wireless network card (TP-LINK TL-WN220M 2.0) and laptop connection.
Tip: for cost and compatibility considerations, it is best to select the same brand of wireless network products when creating a wireless LAN.
Step 4 of building an office wireless LAN: Install a network device
In the studio, you must first install a USB wireless Nic for each laptop (assuming that all Windows XP operating systems are installed ):
Connect the USB wireless network card to the USB interface of the laptop. Windows XP will automatically prompt you to find new hardware and open the "Find new hardware wizard" dialog box. Insert the drive disk that comes with the ENI into the optical drive, select the "auto install software" option, and then click the "Next" button to start the installation of the driver.
In this way, open the "Network Connection" dialog box and you will see the automatically created "automatic wireless network connection ". In addition, you can see the installed USB wireless network adapter in the "Network Adapter" in the "Device Manager" dialog box.
Next, connect the UpLink port of the TP-LINK TL-R410 switch to the Internet access port of the office network with a network cable, and select a port (except the port next to UpLink) connect to the WAN port of the TP-LINK TL-WR245 1.0 Wireless Broadband Router. The other ports are connected by a network cable and the finance room, and the manager is connected by a computer. Because the Wireless Broadband Router itself integrates five vswitches, in addition to providing a 10/100 Mbps adaptive WAN port, it also provides Four 10/100 Mbps adaptive lanports, one of which is connected to the server, and manage the wireless router through the server.
Finally, connect the vswitch and the wireless router respectively, and the wireless network will work normally.
Step 2: Set up the network environment
After installing the network device, we also need to set the network for the Wireless AP or wireless router and the computer with the wireless Nic installed.
(1) set up a wireless router
In addition to common basic settings and DHCP settings, you also need to set the WAN connection type and access control.
