Export the elements in Photoshop quickly and in bulk

In projects that require team collaboration in software UI design, video post-production, and so on, often involve the issue of exporting Photoshop elements. For example, when a project is large, there are hundreds of layers, and when designing iOS or Android applications, often to save images in several different resolutions, Photoshop provides a variety of ways to streamline and automate the export process.

Method One: Merge copy (copymerged)

The way to quickly export an image effect, such as a button design, to another file is to use a merged copy.

In general, an image is composed of multiple layers, which are displayed or hidden as needed. Then use the selection tool (M) to select the image you want to export, click Edit > Merge Copy (copymerged), then create a new document, press CTRL + V (paste), and then save to the new file.

Method Two: Export a layer to a file

If you need to export layers to separate images (such as the button design, the same size, but not the same color), you can use Photoshop script: Export the layer to a file (exportlayerstofiles), click the menu File > script ( Scripts) > Export layers to a file (exportlayerstofiles) so Photoshop saves each layer as a separate file with the same file name as the layer name. You can also adjust the file format and file size.

The disadvantage of this approach is that before you export, you might want to merge some layers, which are generally very practical.

Method Three: Slicing tool (C)

The Photoshop slicing tool allows you to divide the image into a few square areas and then export it as a separate image. The advantage of this approach is that it is convenient and accurate, and is often used in web design and UI design. For example, the design of dynamic images, interactive images is very convenient, in order to ensure the accuracy of cutting, often build a lot of reference lines. When the slices are finished, click Save for the Web or Device usage format (saveforweb&devices), which allows you to bulk export the images you want.
