Extjs practice (4) -- whether ext is charged or free (from extjs)
Many readers are interested in this question. In fact, Jack has written the answer in the http://www.extjs.com/license and made a detailed description of the authorization form of Ext.
Ext has three types of authorization.
(1) Free authorization
Don't be happy. The free agreement is restricted and cannot be used at will. Free authorization is available only when one of the following conditions is met.
- 1) if you are working on an open-source project that does not use any non-open-source software, you can use ext for free.
- 2) If you are for your own learning, research, teaching, and other non-profit purposes, you can use ext for free.
- 3) If you do not want to provide financial support to the ext development team or want to use ext in your own business projects, you can also use Ext, however, you cannot use ext as a software development library or as a development tool.
- Is it complicated? Simply put, if you use ext for non-profit purposes, you can use it for free under the lgpl protocol. If you use ext for profit purposes, you cannot encapsulate ext as a tool library for sale, and ext can be used in other fields.
(Note: If you are using ext 2.1 or a later version, change the Open Source protocol to the GPL protocol .)
(2) Enterprise authorization
If you do not want to be restricted by free protocols, if your internal agreements require enterprise authorization, and if you are willing to economically support the continuous development of the ext Development Team, the Enterprise authorization of ext can be obtained.
(3) OEM/reseller license
If you want to encapsulate ext as a software development library or toolkit, You need to obtain the dedicated cooperation authorization from the ext development team, free authorization and general enterprise authorization do not allow the use of ext to create development libraries and toolkit.
Jack also introduced the benefits of purchasing an OEM agreement. For example, without being subject to lgpl restrictions, your product became a product supported by ext's official development team on the market, at the same time, you have gained more cooperation opportunities and technical support directly authorized by the ext team.
Maybe this is not clear enough. In fact, if you want to develop an IDE, you should talk to Jack.
We have made a brief introduction to the various authorization methods provided by Ext. You can choose one of the most suitable ones.
