The LTM is local traffic management, which is commonly referred to as server load balancing. Multiple devices that provide the same service (pool) can be virtualized into a single logical device for user access. That is, for the user to see only one device, and actually the user is the service request is between multiple devices, through the load balancing algorithm sharing. It can often be understood as a proxy mode.
The LTM is responsible for the load balancing of the intranet, such as a user access, which is assigned by the LTM to which server to handle.


The GTM is a WAN traffic management, also known as Global load balancing. This module can meet the user's higher load balancing requirements and provide the global resource allocation between different sites. For example, users in Beijing and Shanghai have a Web server cluster (pool), is to provide the same page, then when the Web server in Shanghai is too heavy or down, you can redirect traffic to Beijing.

The GTM is responsible for load balancing of the extranet, such as Beijing's user access is assigned to the Beijing Data center, and Nanjing's user access is assigned to the Shenzhen Data Center.
