In my opinion, FB's interface design is a very good flat design. It does not use popular Visual Effects (reflection, gradient, shadow, highlight, transparency, etc.), but it is still rich in design concepts, this is not just a typographical design, but all the design elements are serving his philosophy.Highly unified. But if I want to say the best, I don't agree. If I want to go around like now, I can only sneer at it. See "FB" to close it.

One of my most admired solutions for the FB interface design is the bottom sidebar. In fact, it is not difficult to think about this: (we all use Windows); it is simpler (position: fixed ). However, FB may be the first website to handle this problem seriously and handle it very well. I was initially impressed with the features of the sidebar on Sina, web chat, but it is not conceptual. When FB is expanded and processed as a real sidebar, it seems very atmospheric and infinitely scalable, and the shape of the network operating system begins to emerge.

However, a shiny sidebar won't solve all the problems. The most important thing is the habit. For the operating system, everyone is used to starting from the sidebar, but for webpages, not only do you get used to starting from the top or the side for a long time, but also because the address bar is input at the top, the vertical scroll bar of the page is doomed to the starting point and path of the line of sight from top to bottom, the bottom side is ignored.

Windows has established more than 20 years of user habits starting from the bottom, and browsers have established more than 10 years of user habits starting from the top. Therefore, the design of the sidebar is very shining, but its position can only be a very limited supplement, cannot become the subject. Users' perception of the use of the client software is quite different from that of the website. For a simple example, the mouse response of the software is not a chiral, but the state change of the object prompts the user to click here, if we restore this small detail to the website, I believe it will lead to user confusion and inhabits, not to mention the use of the operating system. Therefore, it is inappropriate to use the operating system idea to imagine and design websites.

Just think of a problem. The window starts from the bottom edge, and then the bottom edge function is just a window switch, and the application window is actually from top to bottom, this leads to a contrast in cognition. Although Microsoft has become very accustomed to it, in theory, this contrast is indeed unreasonable and should not be discussed below. So let's look at this little point. Mac is better than Windows. Mac is from the top, and the application keeps the same experience from the beginning to the end, in addition, the dock design at the bottom is more explicit than window, prompting users that this is a quick switch of the application, rather than a window switch. PS: I have never really used Mac ...... ===, I dragged my windows edge to the Top N years ago. I initially imitated Mac and soon got used to it and thought that when my sight was no longer beating back and forth, when I handle applications, processing systems, and switching windows, the response is always upward. It seems that this kind of cognitive unification is really easy and effort-saving. I used "seems", so I did not negate "START" of windows, theoretical theory. Habits are higher than theories.

So when I open Microsoft's Live Mesh, this may become something of Microsoft's Web Operations (not gymnastics), although it is amazing that it is exactly the same as Vista. But I am still not used to restoring the system interface and interaction on the browser. Because this is what I entered after the URL, I know it is a website, but it is presented to me in front of the system UI and UE, double-click, window, maximize, minimize, right-click, bottom-side window switch ...... I tried every system operation that Microsoft tried to restore, but with the constant reminder of the speed of the network and the constant reminder of the browser interface, I had to keep telling myself that this was not a system, it is a website, and my experience is constantly in conflict. For example, if a Web page cannot be opened for half a day, it will be patient even if the loading progress is transferred, but if it is changed to a system, it will be necessary to open a folder and go around! Give me the UI of the system, give me the ue of the system, and then set up a wall: network speed. This ...... Don't tell me that the network speed will be faster in the future. I tell you that the network speed is the bottle port designed for Internet experience. The size of the bottle port determines your design method. When will the network speed reach the system speed, and when will it take on the system experience design, otherwise it will be more of a gimmick.

The network operating system will come out. If it is based on a browser, its experience design is still unknown and is still under exploration. I believe it must be independent or even brand new, it is the continuation and deep mining of Internet usage habits, rather than the experience design of a simple clone system. Maybe in the future, windows, Mac OS X, and network operating systems will form three kingdoms, which will be used for mutual reference, but will maintain completely different personalities.

This problem had plagued me for a long time when englive switched from Alpha to Beta. I looked at the icon in the upper left corner of the Beta interface, and the more difficult it was to see, the easier it was to see, and the easier it was to use than in the upper left corner. I thought that it may take a long time to become a rare website without a logo. What's more, civi is important for users. Not only did I still think so, but I finally got it back, because the application is still thin enough. Forget it, and let the mark be a while to live.

Looking back at the rest of FB's navigation and layout, I personally do not like or agree with the old version's navigation and layout at all. The complicated navigation makes the real content area, the application area is compressed too small, which makes me feel very bad, especially in the high-resolution mode that is currently popular ~ Tight ~ Ah ~ (It's good, right ......). In particular, the application navigation on the left is not planned, and the icons are so strange that the page is very difficult. Of course, SNS is about to make a noise, the more SNS, right, it's all about doing this and pursuing it, so I don't want to go. Almost all SNS are learning this. FB needs to operate on the Internet and on-campus networks. at home and abroad, it must not be able to run. Two happy estimates also develop operational strategies. Who else is there?
