Failed to open the physical file MDF. Operating System Error 5: "5 (Access denied .) "
Environment: SQL Server 2008 R2 problem: "The physical file MDF cannot be opened" is reported when a database is attached. Operating system error: (Access denied ). Solution:
  1. Right-click the MDF file to be attached and choose "properties"> "security"> "current user". Select "full control" and click "OK.
  2. Perform the same operations on log files.
