Asyuncrical Digital Subscriber Loop Asymmetric Digital user line Loop (ADSL) is a member of the xDSL family and is hailed as "express on modern information highway" by Western countries ". Because of its high downlink speed, high frequency bandwidth, and excellent performance, it is favored by many users and has become another new and faster and more efficient access method after MODEM and ISDN, it is also the most widely used access method in China.
ADSL usage exception
During the use of the broadband network, some difficult problems often occur, resulting in failure to access the Internet, affecting work, study and entertainment. The following describes some common problems in the use of ADSL Broadband and provides some reference solutions.
1. Problems with dial-up failure when using the USB-based adsl modem.
Symptom and Cause Analysis: Generally, this problem occurs because the usb modem is powered by a USB interface and the startup time is short, the network device is not activated, or the line is not activated, that is, the adsl modem is not activated, resulting in line failure.
Solution: if a similar problem occurs, we can wait for 30 seconds to several minutes and try again. Sometimes we can connect to the server as soon as it starts, in some cases, it may take several minutes to activate the service or restart the service. If the service cannot be activated for a long time, a problem may occur in the network connection. Contact the local telecommunications Bureau by phone, this situation is relatively rare.
2. I have been using a good ADSL MODEM and suddenly cannot access the Internet.
Symptom and Cause Analysis: there are many possible causes for such a problem. If hardware and line damage are excluded (the probability of such a problem is very small), there may be the following reasons: first, network equipment is overheated and unstable; second, automatic disconnection during IP address adjustment; third, the network system of the Telecommunications Bureau crashes, and the probability of such a situation is very small, however, I have met you twice.
Solution: if the network device is overheated and the operation is unstable, the device can automatically connect to the device in general. Due to the high heat of the adsl modem, the hand is very hot when it is touched. To work stably with the equipment, it is still placed in a well ventilated place. Because the IP address of ADSL is dynamically allocated, sometimes the IP address needs to be adjusted, and a sudden disconnection may occur, after a few seconds, you can connect automatically. If you cannot connect, press reset io to close the connection and start the connection. If the problem persists, contact your ISP and check whether the problem has occurred in the Network Center.
3. slow network speed
In general, the speed of 1 mb adsl bandwidth should be enough for our daily use (except for high-definition video-on-demand videos) or for a few people, but sometimes it is slow to open the web page.
Symptom and cause analysis: the first possibility is that some WEB servers are busy. If other WEB pages are not slow, the network should be normal. This is because some WEB servers are busy. Second, it may be the compatibility between the dial-up software and the operating system. Again, there may also be line quality or distance problems, because ADSL uses a telephone line, if the distance is too long, there will be signal attenuation, leading to slow down the network speed.
Solution: We recommend that you try again several times later when some WEB servers are busy. In terms of dialing software, if you use Windows XP, the system comes with a dialing tool without additional dialing software. If you use other systems, we recommend that you use the RASPPPOE dialing software. If the reason is the line quality or distance, please contact the relevant Telecommunications Bureau (for the district bureau where you install and debug ADSL, and leave contact information during installation.
ADSL Broadband sharing
1. Some friends use the adsl modem of the Ethernet interface to access the Internet, and then build a LAN through the HUB or vswitch, several machines, and then share the Internet solution.
The following uses the Real-Time ADSL2110-EH MODEM (with routing function) as an example to introduce the relevant settings. Generally, the default IP address of the MODEM is 192.168.10.1, which is used as the client (each machine connected to the HUB or vswitch) after the NIC is connected to the HUB or vswitch, you need to install the TCP/IP protocol and the IPX/SPX protocol of the LAN, and then set the IP address 192.168.10.X, which is the same as the domain in which the MODEM is located. The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. The default gateway: 192.168.10.1 (the IP address of the MODEM), while the DNS server is set to the IP address of the local telecom network. You can select other projects by default.
If you are using a usb modem with 5800U and similar functions without routing, you can also share the internet. One of the machines connected to the adsl modem acts as a host, and, like other machines, connects to the HUB or switch through a network cable. On the host, set the IP address 192.168.0.1, subnet mask 255.255.0, Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1, and DNS server to the IP address of the local telecom network, and select share ADSL through the LAN, in addition, Windows XP firewall cannot be enabled on the host; otherwise, the Internet cannot be accessed. As a client, you only need to select to access the Internet through the lan. If it is a WINXP system, you can access the Internet without configuring it, the main drawback of this method is that the performance of servers is better, and once the server is shut down, other users cannot access the Internet.
2. Why is the network speed slow after multiple computers share the Internet?
The speed of Internet sharing mainly depends on the Internet access method and network bandwidth used. Currently, common ADSL speeds include 512 KBPS, 1 MB, and 2 MB, cable MODEM and residential broadband bandwidth are even 10 M, but the actual speed is usually dependent on the quality of service provided by the supplier, and sometimes cannot reach the nominal speed. Generally, a 1 mbps bandwidth network can be used by 1-12 people for browsing, chatting, and sending and receiving emails. All users share a 1 mbps bandwidth, however, the bandwidth is not evenly allocated to each computer. If one or more machines use a multi-threaded download tool to download files or play some online games with high bandwidth usage, therefore, it will occupy a lot of bandwidth, causing other computers to be too slow to access the Web page. If similar situations often occur, it is recommended that users in the network use a single thread to download or select a low-density time to download.
3. The two computers were originally connected by NICs. Later, they connected the network cards of one of the computers to the broadband. Which methods can be used to connect the other computer to the broadband?
There are three main methods to solve the problem of shared Internet access: using a HUB or vswitch, you can directly connect the broadband network connection to the HUB or vswitch, and then using the network cards of the two computers to connect to the HUB or vswitch respectively, you can use the shared software to share the bandwidth. Second, you can install another network card on the machine that has connected to the bandwidth to connect the network card of another computer, share the Internet through network sharing software. Once again, if you have sufficient funds, you can select a Broadband Router to connect the network cable of the Netcom broadband to the WAN port of the router, connect the two computer NICs to the lanport of the router, and configure the PPPOE dial-up function of the router to enable independent Internet access on any computer.
4. How can I ensure broadband Internet access security?
Many of my friends are worried that they will share broadband Internet access and their machines will be "Hacked". In fact, in general, the shared software is already powerful and generally has firewall functions, when the Internet is connected to a LAN, the LAN only has one valid IP address, and the Internet is connected to the shared server. Other computers in the system cannot access and therefore cannot be intruded. Therefore, compared with independent Internet access, Internet sharing greatly improves the security of computers, many broadband routers also have firewall functions, so the external connection is the vro itself. The vast majority of hackers cannot work after encountering a vro, so the security is higher, because the router itself is not afraid of attacks. Therefore, although you can rest assured that you will not be hacked!
5. There are two computers in the house sharing broadband Internet access, but it is troublesome to install the NIC. What is the simple method?
There are actually a lot of options. It is common to choose USB Link to connect two computers online and then share the internet. However, you must note that there are two types of USB Link connector: one is that only the simplest file transmission function is provided, and it needs to be implemented using special software, such cables cannot implement shared networks. Another USB connector is integrated with a dedicated control chip. After installation, it is virtualized as a network adapter in the hardware list, in terms of usage and configuration, it is basically the same as the NIC, which can achieve shared Internet access. However, compared with the network cable, the connection distance is relatively short and the price is more expensive. In addition, you can also use wireless Internet access. Although convenient, wireless devices are expensive.
