1. What should I do if the client program cannot be used?

Wireless NIC driver and client installation is complete, open the TP-LINK wireless client application, if the following problem occurs:

1. The options on the client interface are gray and cannot be operated.
2. No signal is found, but a strong wireless signal is found;
Troubleshoot as follows:
If the wireless network card is not inserted and the computer does not recognize the wireless network card, the client software will not be available. Unplug the wireless network card or change the USB port for testing.
We recommend that you disable the firewall and anti-virus software on your computer and uninstall the installed drivers and clients. Reinstall the Wireless NIC driver and client software.
Insert the wireless network card into another computer to test whether it can be used normally.

2. How do I set the simulated AP function?

 

A simulated AP is also called a SoftAP. After the analog AP function of the wireless network card is enabled on a computer that can access the Internet, the wireless network card can convert the network of the computer into a Wi-Fi wireless signal, connect your mobile phone, tablet, and other terminals to the Internet.
This article describes how to set up a simulated AP and provides FAQs.

Tip:Before setting, you must know which method the computer with the network card is used to access the Internet, such as broadband dialing, wireless Internet access, or local connection (automatically obtaining IP addresses ( Confirmation method).
 
The following describes the detailed settings:
1 Insert the NIC into the computer
Insert the wireless network card into the USB interface of the computer, and ensure that the wireless network card can be used properly (such as the connection signal ).
2 Install the wireless Nic client program
The analog AP needs to enable the settings through the client software dedicated to the TP-LINK wireless network card, many users have installed the client when installing the network card, directly open it. If you have not installed the software, place the optical disc carried by the NIC in the optical drive of your computer to install the client program, or go to our official website Service Support CenterDownload the corresponding driver. The compressed package contains the relevant client software.
After the installation is complete, open the TP-LINK wireless Nic client program:
3 Enable simulation on the client AP
After the client program is opened, enable the simulated AP as shown in the following figure:
Note:For some client programs of earlier versions AdvancedEnable SoftAP.

4 , Configuration simulation AP Parameters

Note:The local connection is used as an example. In actual use, if a computer uses a broadband dial-up, the broadband connection is selected.

If your computer is connected to the Internet through a broadband connection, Select Broadband connection. Similarly, you can select Unicom(Unicom is a 3G connection in this example ).
Can a wireless network card share wireless signals connected to it?
It can be implemented on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 computers.

First, make sure that the computer where the wireless network card is installed can access the internet normally. Check that the wireless terminal automatically obtains the IP address. You can try to delete the wireless configuration file and reconnect to the signal.

3. What if no wireless signal is found?

 

1 Enable wireless switch
Check whether the wireless switch of the notebook is enabled (we recommend that you contact the computer manufacturer or query the relevant instructions for confirmation ).
2 Enable wireless services
Make sure that the wireless service on your computer is enabled.
Setting method:Find Computer, right-clickClick and select Management. Click: Services and applications > Service > WLAN AutoConfig. Right-clickClick WLAN AutoConfig and select Attribute,Confirm service status Enabled. The start type is Automatic. Click OK. As shown in the following figure:
Check whether the vrossid has a Chinese SSID or SSID containing special characters. We recommend that you change the SSID to any combination of letters and numbers. The channel is recommended to be 1-11. Make sure that Wireless FeaturesAnd SSID BroadcastIs enabled, as shown in the following figure:
Signal strength:Avoid too many obstacles (walls, partitions, etc.) between the wireless network card of the computer and the wireless router ). Try to adjust the antenna orientation and terminal distance.
Wireless interference:Disable cordless phones, microwave ovens, wireless mouse and keyboard to avoid wireless interference.
Wireless frequency band:If you are searching for a 5G Hz wireless network of a dual-band router, make sure that the computer wireless network card supports the 5G Hz wireless band.
Try to replace another wireless terminal or use the computer to connect to another wireless router.

4. What should I do if I cannot connect to a searched signal?

 

If you connect to another user's wireless signal or enter an incorrect wireless password, the signal cannot be connected. Log on to the vro interface and confirm the wireless signal name and password.
Confirmation method: After logging on to the vro management interface, you can view the wireless signal name and password, as shown in the following figure:
Some routers need Wireless Settings  View the SSID (Wireless name) in Wireless security settings  View the wireless password.
If the vro enables wireless MAC address filtering or disables the computer, the connection fails. We recommend that you disable the filtering function of the vro first.
Disable wireless MAC Address Filtering
Enter Wireless Device Access control, Confirm Access control function  Select DisableDisable wireless MAC address filtering on some routers. As shown in the following figure:
Unban banned hosts
Log on to the vro page and click Device Management > Banned devices, Make sure that no device is disabled. If a device is disabled, click UnbanYou can.
The computer is too far away from the router, or there are many wall partitions and obstacles in the middle. As a result, the wireless signal received by the computer is weak, so that the computer cannot connect to the signal.
We recommend that you connect your computer to the vro and connect the wireless signal at a close distance.
If you have modified the wireless password but have not modified the signal name, the wrong wireless configuration file will be saved on the computer, causing the router to fail to connect. Please try to delete the configuration file.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Right-click Start, Select Command Prompt (administrator)To open the doscommand box.
2. Enter the command Netsh wlan show profilesTo view all wireless configuration files on the computer, as shown in the following figure:
3. Enter the following command: Netsh wlan delete profile name = "zhangsan"And press enter to delete the configuration file of zhangsan, as shown in the following figure:
The computer does not support the wireless encryption method set by the router, or the wireless signal name contains Chinese or special characters, which may cause the computer to be unable to connect wirelessly.
We recommend that you modify the Wireless name of the vro, cancel the wireless encryption, and then use the wireless connection on your computer.
Setting method: Log on to the vro interface. Network StatusOn the left side of the interface, you can modify wireless parameters, as shown in the following figure:
Some routers Wireless Settings  Modifying SSID (Wireless name), In Wireless security settings  Select Disable wireless security.
The number of wireless terminals connecting to a vro is limited. If a large number of wireless terminals are connected (the maximum number has been reached), other wireless terminals cannot connect to the wireless signals of the vro.
We recommend that you disconnect other wireless terminals, reduce the number of connected terminals on the router, and try wireless connection again.
Use other wireless terminals to connect to the wireless signals of the vro and test whether the connection is successful. If other wireless terminals can successfully connect to the wireless signal, it is recommended to check the computer's problems.

5. How to connect hidden wireless signals?

 

After front-end wireless signals are hidden, the network is not found on the TP-LINK client software, you must manually add the configuration file, the method is as follows:
1. Open the TP-LINK client software, click Configuration file, Click Add, As follows:
2. In the displayed dialog box, set all parameters. Note that the network name and security key must be consistent with the hidden signal name. After setting, click Save. As follows:
3. Return to the configuration file, select the previously added configuration file from the list, and click Connection, As follows:
4. The system prompts you to activate the configuration file. Click OK, As follows:
5. After the configuration file is successfully activated, click StatusTo view the information after successful connection, as shown below:
At this point, the hidden wireless network settings are connected through the TP-LINK client software, after the network connection is successful, closing the client software does not affect the wireless connection.

6. What should I do if I cannot connect the wireless signal to the Internet?

 

Make sure that the wireless network card of your computer is connected to the wireless signal of your router. Do not connect to the wireless signal of other routers. You can use the network cable to connect the LAN port (wired interface) of the computer and the router to log on to the router interface, on the left side of the main interface Network StatusView Master networkOf Name, As shown in the following figure:
If the router interface is a traditional interface, go Wireless Settings > Basic settings, View SSIDThat is, the wireless signal name.
Make sure that the wireless network adapter automatically obtains the IP address and DNS server address, and obtains the IP address of the same network segment as the router.

How do I set the computer to automatically obtain the IP address?
Note:: The IP address must be in the same network segment as the management IP address of the router, and the default gateway is the management IP address of the router. For example, if the management IP address of the vro is 192.168.1.1, the IP address obtained by the terminal connected to the vro is 192.168.1.X (X = 2-254), and the default gateway is 192.168.1.1.
The access control function of the vro。 affects the access permission of the terminal. We recommend that you disable the access control function of the vro.
Confirmation method: Log on to the vro interface and click Device Management > Master networkFind the corresponding terminal entry and confirm that no Internet access time rule is set, as shown in the following figure:
Note:: The terminal device can be determined based on the IP address or MAC address of the terminal.
If a vro is a traditional interface, check that the vro does not have parent control, Internet access control, or firewall enabled.
Test the signal of replacing other wireless terminals to connect to the vro. If other terminals can access the Internet, it may be a problem with the wireless terminal (you can connect to another wireless router to access the Internet for confirmation ). If other wireless terminals cannot access the internet, try resetting the vro.

7. How to set up an Ad-Hoc network?

 

1 , Installation TP-LINK Wireless NIC driver
After the TP-LINK wireless network card is inserted into the computer, install the driver and client program.

2 Configure the wireless network card IP Address
Because there is no DHCP server in the Ad-Hoc network, you need to manually configure an IP address for the wireless network adapter.
The IP address configuration method may vary depending on the operating system. For specific configuration methods, see: how to set an IP address for a computer?
3 , Settings Ad-Hoc Network
After the NIC driver and client program are installed, open the client application and click Configuration file> Add, As shown in the following figure:
In the pop-up dialog box, customize the configuration file name and set Network name, Network type selection Point-to-point, Security mode selection WEP(Ad-Hoc networks only support WEP encryption). Enter the password in the security key, as shown in the following figure:
Note:: The password length varies depending on different key formats, as shown in the following code:
ASCII_64, The security key can only be set 5ASCII code (any character );
ASCII_128, The security key can only be set 13ASCII code (any character );
Hex_64, The security key can only be entered 10Characters in hexadecimal notation (0-9, A-F;
Hex_128, The security key can only be entered 26A hexadecimal (0-9, A-F) character.
After the configuration file is added, select the configuration file and click Connection, As shown in the following figure:
The system prompts to activate the configuration file. Click Confirm. As shown in the following figure:
After activating the configuration file StatusYou can see the relevant parameters and information, as shown in the following figure:
So far, the Ad-Hoc network settings have been completed.
Description: Ad-Hoc networks only support WEP encryption, and the maximum wireless rate can only be 54 MB.
After the Ad-Hoc network is set up, the wireless terminal can connect to the Ad-Hoc network to achieve mutual access. Taking Windows 7 as an example, the wireless signal connection method is as follows:
Double-clickIn the lower-right corner of the computer, find the wireless network connection icon, find the Ad-Hoc signal in the pop-up dialog box, and Click Connect, as shown in the following figure:

Manually configure the IP address for the computer and the front-end TP-LINK wireless network card in the same network segment, you can achieve LAN access.
Problem 1 How to judge Ad-Hoc Network created successfully?
A: According to the above settings, open a command prompt on any computer and use the Ping command to detect. If the Ping command is enabled, the Ad-Hoc network is successfully established, as shown in the following figure:
Problem 2 , Ad-Hoc What should I do if the network settings are successful and mutual access over the LAN fails?
A: If the two terminals can be pinged to each other and cannot communicate with each other, check whether the firewall is enabled on the computer. We recommend that you disable the firewall before testing, if one of the terminals is a mobile terminal (such as a mobile phone or tablet), you must borrow third-party software to share resources.
Problem 3 And wireless network card settings Ad-Hoc Is the network connected to wireless signals at the same time?
A: No.. The point-to-point network (Ad-Hoc) and basic mode of the wireless network adapter can only be set. In the two applications, the configured application takes effect. For example, if the Ad-Hoc network is set up first, the wireless network adapter will connect to other wireless signals, and the Ad-Hoc network will not take effect.
Problem 4 How to disconnect Ad-Hoc Network?
A: There are two ways to disconnect an Ad-Hoc network:
[1] Slave TP-LINK Wireless network card disconnected
Open the client application of the wireless network adapter and delete the configuration file of the Ad-Hoc network. As shown in the following figure:
[2] Disconnect other point-to-point terminals
Disconnect the Ad-Hoc signal from other point-to-point terminals. In this case, the Ad-Hoc network is disconnected, but it still exists.
