Father of Linux: the most annoying Security figures publicize Software Vulnerabilities

Editor's note: many people who have mastered some hacker technologies like to show off or use it as a threat.

Linus Torvalds, the Linux operating system founder, recently said that he had "enough" to publicize the practices of various software vulnerabilities for the so-called "security professionals ". He believes that every public discussion of software vulnerabilities by these security personnel is nothing more than a self-hyping. In fact, it is no benefit to the sound development of the software industry. Torvalz recently made the above statement in an email to the NetworkWorld website. He said that he had posted a comment on security people last month, and then heated debate in the IT industry. Torvalz said last month that he was unwilling to deal with the so-called "security community", one of the reasons is that he felt that the entire security community was raising himself; if software developers do not promptly fix common vulnerabilities, security personnel will accuse software developers of being incompetent.

In an email this week, torwaz said that security professionals generally fall into two camps: some of them do not disclose technical details of vulnerabilities until they are repaired; the other part is about to urgently release software vulnerability technical details to prove how incompetent software developers are (he also believes that most commercial software developers are indeed very incompetent ). However, in any case, trowaz has no liking for the security researchers in both camps.

"These two camps both have their own interest points, and they are also getting rid of each other to create a huge profit for themselves," he said ." He believes that security professionals do not have to publicize software vulnerabilities. They only need to notify software developers to fix the vulnerabilities. "Although some software vendors say, security personnel are expected to release vulnerability details after the vulnerability patch is released. However, vulnerability fixing is the ultimate goal, while some security personnel regard the publication of vulnerability technical details as the ultimate goal ."

According to torwaz, Linux kernel security is a "private matter" for developers. security professionals do not have to speculate on Linux software vulnerabilities to force corresponding developers to release patches quickly. In daily life, torvalz is famous for its sharp language but full of ridicule, and often works with Microsoft on different occasions ".
