1. Why do scientists like you join Google?

Winton: Part of the reason is that I want to go back to the application field. Because in my career, I have spent a lot of time doing the Internet infrastructure.

My main partner, Babakam, has spent 8 years doing Internet applications, such as digital library projects. But then it went to help the telecoms industry build some basic infrastructure for the Internet. Then I decided to go back to the Internet application area.

I looked at all the internet companies and discovered that Google was the most innovative, and I've known Google's CEO Schmidt for 25 years.

My idea at the time was to design an experimental network, if the experiment was successful, to design a commercial web. Results The experimental network has been developed after the development, and into commercial.

Today, the development of the network has indeed exceeded expectations, so we redesigned the IPv6. There is no technical barrier to the implementation of this technology, but there are commercial barriers. Only when the majority of users say they want to use IPv6, it is possible to scale commercial. This is a very fast pace in China. Perhaps many users only want to use the address. From this we see that users can push a lot of technology forward, but also may let the technology advance sluggish.
