VSphere VSMP
Vsphere Virtual symmetric multiplexing (Vsan symmetric multi-processing, VSMP) allows virtual infrastructure administrators to create virtual machines with multi-pane virtual processors.
Vsphere vMotion and vsphere Storage vMotion Dynamic Migration (Live migration)
VSphere DRS
The DRS cluster aggregates the CPU and memory capacity of all hosts, but it is important to note that the virtual machine can use only one physical server's CPU and memory at any given time.
The goal of DRS is to include 2 aspects:
(1) When the virtual machine starts, DRS deploys each virtual machine to the host that is best suited to run the virtual machine at that time.
(2) When the virtual machine is running, DRS will provide the necessary hardware resources for the VM, while minimizing the contention of these resources and keeping the usage rate to a certain extent.
VSphere Storage DRS
Storage DRS can use the same mechanisms as vsphere DRS to balance the storage capacity and storage performance of a data storage cluster.
Storage I/O control and network I/O control
Allow administrators to specify relative priority for storage and network I/O
Configuration file-driven storage
Profile-driven Storage, vsphere administrators can ensure that virtual machines in storage meet the required capacity, performance, availability, and redundancy through storage capabilities and virtual machine storage configurations.
VSphere HA
Different from Drs. Vsphereha does not use vmotion technology as a means of migrating servers. When an ESXi host encounters a server failure, HA restarts all virtual machines running in it. By default HA and virtual machines have internal heartbeat and I/O activity, and virtual machines restart automatically if the virtual machine operating system stops running. the business will be interrupted, typically less than 3 minutes.
VSphere FT
FT can not cause downtime in the event of a physical host failure. Use Vlockstep technology to save virtual machine replica mirroring on a separate physical host. VSphere ft can work together with vmotion. Vmwaer recommends multiple FT virtual machines with multiple Vcpus, using a 10GbE network between hosts.
VADP and VDP
Vsphere Storage API (vsphere Storage APIs for data protection, vadp) and VMware Data Protection (VMware PROTECTION,VDP)
Virtual San (VSAN)
Vsan requires at least 3 nodes and can scale up to 32. Solid state storage is also required in each compute node.
vsphere Replication
VSphere Replication is a feature of the hardware storage platform that allows customers to replicate virtual machines from one vsphere environment to another vsphere environment.
Flash Read Cache
Provides full support for the use of solid state storage.
