Federated search capabilities in Windows 7

In Vista, Microsoft introduced an enhanced Desktop Search feature to help users find files quickly, and email has other things on the computer. With the release of Windows Search 4.0, new search performance is better by adding a series of necessary features for the IT industry.

Windows 7 Desktop Search consolidates the federated search functionality to search for things outside of the local computer. Now you can search for things on the web through your local computer. The technology is based on OpenSearch and RSS format. Because it is based on the standard is open, users can easily create their own personalized search tool. It has to be admitted that the Federated search feature looks promising. More and more websites are now joining the OpenSearch support to attract Windows 7 users. This is not new to Microsoft, because OpenSearch is integrated early in IE 7 and SharePoint searches.
