Feescale K64 Development Note 1: Establishment of the development environment

This document describes the establishment process of the Freescale K64 Series development environment.

1, Development Board function verification
Through the micro USB cable Connection to the K64 Development Board power supply, you can see D12 (RGB LED) red, green, blue 3 lights alternating flashing, press 2 under the SW3 button, the circuit board tilted forward, the red light, the circuit board tilted backwards, green light.

2. Driver installation
Using the micro USB cable to connect the PC to the K64 Development Board (SDAUSB), the mass storage device mbed appears in the system, as shown in the following figure: Double-click Mbedwinserial_16466.exe, run the driver installer, and the interface shown in the following figure:       Click "Install" button to install the driver, after successful installation, will appear as shown in the following image of the interface, it is important to remember that the development board must be in a normal connection with the PC to install the driver. After the driver is installed, a corresponding serial port appears, as shown in the following figure:

3. Installing the Kinetis SDK
Double-click the Kinetis SDK 1.3.0 mainline-windows.exe, the interface shown in the following image: Click the "Yes" button, the following image shows the interface, select the installation path. Click the "OK" button and the SDK starts to install, as shown in the figure below.
Once the installation is complete, click on the "OK" button.

4. Install Kinetis Design Studio
Double-click Kinetis-design-studio_3.2.0.exe and the interface shown in the following figure appears.
Click the "Next" button to select the installation settings, as shown in the following figure.
Click on the "Next" button to choose whether to create a shortcut on the desktop.       Click on the "Next" button to confirm the installation again.       Click the "Install" button to start the installation. The interface after installation is complete, as shown in the following figure.
