Filtering the database schema has the following advantages:
- Improve connection performance when opening a database connection
- Limit the amount of information that the database browser renders
- Added metadata retrieval performance to support SQL code completion features
Pattern filters are created as part of a connection profile definition and are managed using the Connection Profile Wizard. Create a pattern filter to do the following:
1. In the database browser, right-click the connection and select Edit.
2. Click Next to continue with the schema Details, which, by default, shows that all mode options are selected.
3. Select the show selected mode option and the initial mode list is empty.
4. Click Add to view a complete list of available database connection modes.
Note : The add operation attempts to connect to the database and retrieve all the schema lists.
