A long time ago I noticed a strange process in Task Manager: plugin-container.exe. View the path of the Process file and find that it exists in the Firefox directory. It occupies 40 MB of memory for no reason.
It turned out to be a new feature added in the new version of Firefox: crash protection. According to the official introduction, it provides crash protection for third-party plug-ins, to prevent the browser from false death when running third-party plug-ins such as Flash. Although the functions are advanced, they occupy a lot of system resources. Users with low computer configurations can disable this plug-in.
The following method can disable this function:
Enter about: config in the address bar, enter plugin in the filter, and find
Dom. ipc. plugins. enabled
Dom. ipc. plugins. enabled. npctrl. dll
Dom. ipc. plugins. enabled. npqtplugin. dll
Dom. ipc. plugins. enabled. npswf32.dll
Dom. ipc. plugins. enabled. nptest. dll
As you can see,
Change the values of the first five items to false.
In this case, the system resources occupied by the plugin-container.exe process can be released.
