Fireworks optimize the detailed process of webpage image

Process | Web page | The requirement to optimize a webpage image is to release as high a quality image as possible in the shortest transmission time. Therefore, the design and processing of web images requires the image to be as high as possible and the smallest possible size, so that the image download speed to reach the fastest. To do this, you must optimize the image.

In fireworks, all the optimizations can be done directly in the work environment using the Optimize panel, and the optimization settings are used only for output images. Therefore, the user is free to optimize the image and adjust its optimization settings without having to worry about damaging the original artwork. And you can preview the different optimization results, at any time to modify the image as needed. Another quick and easy way to optimize is to use the "Export Preview" dialog box of fireworks to optimize the image when it is exported.

After you set up the optimized output parameters, you can output the relevant files according to the settings. In addition, in order to continue processing documents with other software, such as Photoshop, users can also output documents in other formats, such as PSD.

　　First, image optimization steps and scheme selection

　　(i) The process of using the optimization panel to set up image optimization

1. Open a file and open the preview, 2-up, or 4-up tab in the Image editing window.

2. Select a file format in the Optimize panel, as shown in Figure 1, where you should choose a different file format based on the file type. For example, if you have more overlapping color regions in your diagram, it is appropriate to use the GIF format, in which case the "dither" (jitter) can be used to compensate for the degraded image quality caused by color reduction. For the JPEG format, you can use "Smooth" (smoothing) to blur the image slightly, thereby reducing the size of the image, which may be better with the JPEG format.

3. By limiting the color of the image to a specific set of colors (such as a color palette), and then deleting the unused colors in the image, you reduce the number of colors used in the file, and the size of the file is correspondingly reduced. However, the number of colors is too few to affect the quality of the image, so the user must test the effects of various palettes to find a balance between the image size and quality. As shown in Figure 2.

　(ii) Optimization options, settings and additions and deletions

1. Select the built-in optimization scheme

In the setting Drop-down list set at the top of the optimize, users can select some of the optimization types that are built into the system.
Fireworks offers 6 optimization options, each of which has the following meanings:


? GIF Web216: Converts all colors to 216 web security colors.
? GIF WEBSNAP 256: Converts a non-web-safe color to the closest web-safe color, and the palette contains up to 256 colors.
? GIF Websnap 128: Converts a non-web-safe color to the closest web-safe color, and the palette contains up to 128 colors.
? GIF Adaptive 256: This time the palette contains only the actual colors used in the graphic, and the palette contains up to 256 colors.
? Jpeg-better Quality: Set quality is 80, smoothness is 0, at this time the image quality is high, but the file size is also larger.
? Jpeg-smaller File: Set the quality to 60, smoothness is 2, at this time the document size than Jpeg-better quality, but at the same time the quality will be greatly reduced.

* If you use GIF or PNG format, you should also set the transparent color of the image, Fireworks MX 2004 provides a total of three transparent modes to choose from: no transparency (opaque mode), index transparency (indexed transparent mode) and Alpha Transparency (alpha transparent mode), where alpha transparency is the channel transparent color. The transparency effect is expressed in Firewoks MX 2004 in the form of white and gray squares. As shown in Figure 3.

In opaque mode, areas that are not defined in the image are filled with an undertone.
Indexed-color mode refers to setting certain colors of the palette to transparent, and the pixels of all these colors in the image are exported as transparent points.
Note: When this transparent color is present in the image, useful pixels are also displayed transparently.

The easiest way to change the transparent color setting is to use the three eyedropper tools at the bottom left of the optimization panel, which functions as follows:
? Click in the preview area to add a transparent color.
? Click in the preview area to remove the transparent color.
? Click in the preview area to select a transparent color.

2. User-defined optimization settings

If the user is not satisfied with the above 6 built-in scenarios, you can use the various optimization options in the Optimize panel for more accurate image settings.

? Select the file format you want in the file format drop-down list box in the Optimize panel.
? Sets the materialization options for the appropriate file format.
? Select additional optimization settings on the shortcut menu in the Optimize panel as needed.

　　3. Save and delete a custom optimization scheme

Fireworks provides the ability to save optimization scenarios, allowing users to save customized scenarios for later use. When you save, the following optimization settings are saved:
? The options settings in the Optimize panel.
? The palette in the Color table panel.
? The frame delay setting that the user selects in the frame panel.
　　
The user can save the customized optimization scheme as a built-in scenario. After you finish optimizing settings, select Save Settings in the Optimize Panel Drop-down list to open the Save Setup dialog box shown in the illustration, type the user-defined settings name, and click OK to save your customized optimization, as shown in Figure 4.

If you no longer need an optimization scenario, you can delete the scenario by selecting the scheme you want to delete in the Optimize panel's optimization list, and then selecting the Delete Setting (delete settings) command on the Panel's shortcut menu.

　　Second, optimize GIF and PNG images
　
　　1. Set palette, chroma, jitter and color loss

When you choose GIF and PNG8 format, you can choose a palette, which features the following:

? Adaptive: The palette is a series of colors extracted from all colors and is the most used palette, and can achieve better results with minimal color.
? Websnap Adaptive: Is a more advanced adaptive palette, which takes into account the richness of color and the compatibility of browsers, and recommends that users use this palette.
? Web 216: A 216-color palette that is common to Windows and Macintosh platforms. It is the safest network image palette because it maintains a fairly good consistency in the browsers of various 8-bit display platforms.
? Exact: Contains the exact colors used in the image. You can use the color palette only if the colors in the image are less than 256. When an image contains more than 256 colors, it is automatically converted to the palette of the best fit color mode.
? Windows and Macintosh: Use standard 256 colors defined by the Windows System or the Macintosh platform.
? Grayscale: Less than 256 grayscale palette, will convert the image to grayscale.
? Black & White: A two-color palette consisting of a black-and-whites color.
? Uniform: A mathematical palette based on RGB pixel values.
? Custom: Customize the palette. Its basic content can be from a standard palette or GIF file, the user can modify the palette on this basis. In addition, when the user changes a color palette, the original mode will become "Custom" mode.

Users can also use the color edit box to set the color depth, using the jitter edit box to set the jitter. For GIF format, you can also use the distortion edit box to set the color loss. The larger the number, the smaller the file size, but the poorer the image quality, as shown in Figure 5.

　　2. Set anti-aliased colors

Click the Color version button in the Optimize panel to set the anti-aliasing color, which makes the object look smoother by blending the object color with the canvas color. To prevent halos, make the canvas color conform to the background color of the Web page, add anti-aliasing to the object, and then set the canvas to transparent.

In Fireworks MX 2004, the options for GIF image optimization, as well as the "interlaced" property of GIF in the pop-up menu of the Optimize panel, can be implemented in the browser to display the edge download, as shown in Figure 5.

Second, optimize GIF and PNG images
