1. Is your network wiring qualified?

The level of enterprise internal network cabling is very important. We recommend that you use a CAT-5e (100 M) or CAT-6 (1G) network cable for optimal voice quality because network speech requires additional bandwidth to improve voice quality. According to experience, most problems with many VoIP systems are caused by incorrect Network cables or poor network cables. In particular, some domestic enterprises did not ask regular construction companies for cabling. These road construction teams cut corners and use various inferior Network cables, causing losses to enterprises.

2. Current Internet bandwidth specifications of Enterprises

Generally, the Internet bandwidth of small and medium-sized enterprises is not too high. Before using VoIP, you may need to consider upgrading the Internet bandwidth first. If more than 10 people in the enterprise use VoIP, we recommend that you use at least one 1 Mbit/s fiber-optic leased line or an Internet line of higher specifications. In addition, the new VDSL launched by China Telecom can also be tested.

3. the router can be optimized for speech and fully support QoS and virtual local area network.

This problem is raised to address the current chaotic local network management of domestic enterprises, if the enterprise network itself is unstable. P2P or Intranet attacks and viruses have prevented the entire enterprise network from accessing the Internet. How can we make the VoIP voice work properly? The answer is to upgrade the existing vro. Enterprise deployment VoIP also needs to evaluate how QoS (Quality of Service) is defined and transmitted in your network architecture. The quality of VoIP speech can be directly affected by network latency and packet delay. Unstable lines may even cause VoIP speech disconnection.

In addition, it is also very important to separately allocate a Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) for dedicated speech traffic bandwidth usage. Before upgrading VoIP, it is necessary to test the network reliability in multiple aspects.

4. An independent speech wiring architecture is required.

Only VoIP runs on an IP network, but it does not mean that you can merge it with the existing network. The CTO should consider how many existing lines need to be replaced, how many internal voice call users need to be supported, and how difficult it is to estimate the location of these IP phones for cabling and supporting construction, finally, consider whether to build an independent cabling system dedicated to VoIP.

In addition, enterprises also need to assess whether Ethernet power supply systems (PoE) are deployed to power new VoIP phones. Of course, you can also plug them into the wall's AC outlet, but this may be somewhat unreliable. In the event of a power outage, the company's external calls will be interrupted.

5. How to deal with existing traditional telephones?

We recommend that you retain existing fax lines and traditional telephone systems. If it is necessary to change the phone number, it is also necessary to develop a complete plan to determine which lines and traditional telephones need to be retained or removed. Because VoIP PBX Telephones may not support certain special dialing rules, some special numbers may not be available for dialing. Therefore, you must evaluate the number of traditional phone lines that are retained with caution.

In foreign countries, some existing phone numbers can be converted to completely new VoIP systems, but not all of them can. In China, policies and regulations are not feasible. To build VoIP for enterprises, we need to consider the above five points and then study a set of planning measures to gradually reduce the obstacles in the construction process. We put forward the final conclusion that small and medium-sized enterprises should first begin with local network optimization to integrate digital and traditional telephones by evaluating various factors. Building a hybrid telephone system is the best strategy.
