Five Super methods to protect IP addresses

1. Method of disabling Network Connection Service

As you know, if you want to restrict users to modify the TCP/IP parameters, these users will not be able to use the new IP address even if they modify the IP address, thus losing the significance of IP address theft. To successfully restrict users from modifying TCP/IP parameters at will, the most direct method is to prevent users from opening the TCP/IP Parameter Setting window. To do this, you can disable the system "NetworkConnections" service to hide the TCP/IP Parameter Setting window, so that users cannot enter the setting window, the new IP address is used.

First, click the "run" command in the "Start" menu. In the displayed system running dialog box, enter "services. run the msc command and click OK. On the System Service list page, select the NetworkConnections service item and right-click it;

Click the "properties" command from the shortcut menu to open the Service property setting interface, click the "Disable" button in the interface, and select "disabled" as the "Start type ", click "OK;

At this point, you can click the "Start", "set", and "network and dial-up connections" commands in sequence. In the window that appears next, you cannot find the "Internet connection" or "Local Connection" icon, So you naturally cannot enter the TCP/IP parameter settings window to modify IP addresses and other parameters, in this way, the IP address cannot be changed illegally.

Of course, the "Disable Network Connection Service" method is used to protect IP addresses, which causes trouble for normal internet access. After all, the network connection service has been disabled, any network-related access will be terminated. If you want to protect the IP address without affecting normal internet access operations, try to disable the system "Plugandplay" service by following the same steps, in this way, the TCP/IP Parameter Setting window can be hidden without affecting normal network access.

Ii. Restrict Network Parameter Modification

If you directly restrict the management permissions of common users so that they do not have the right to open the TCP/IP parameter settings window, then common users cannot modify the IP address at will. For Windows 98, to restrict users from modifying network parameters, you only need to modify the relevant network key values in the registry.

Click "start" and "run". In the "run" dialog box that appears, enter the "regedit" command and click "OK" to open the registry editing window of the system, move the cursor to HKEY_USERS \. DEFAULT \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Network Branch.

In the area on the right of the page, click "edit", "new", and "Dword Value" options in the menu bar, and name the New Dword Value "NoNetSetup ", enter the value as "1", and restart the computer. Then, right-click the network neighbor icon and run the "attribute" command in the shortcut menu, the system prompts you that you cannot enter the network attribute settings window, so you can restrict the modification of IP addresses. However, this method is only valid for Windows 98 operating systems.

Iii. Restricted Access Network quota method

This method is the same as the previous one. The difference is that this method is used in Windows or later operating systems. The following describes how to implement this method.

First, open the system running box, enter the "gpedit. msc" string command, and click "OK" to open the system group policy editing window. In the edit window, double-click "user configuration", "management template", "network", and "network and dial-up connections". On the displayed page, select the "prohibit access to properties of the LAN connection component" option on the right and double-click it. In the settings box that appears, select the "enabled" option, click "OK". Then, you can go to the network connection properties page and select the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" project, the corresponding "attribute" button has become gray, so that ordinary users cannot open the TCP/IP parameter settings window and modify the IP address at will.

4. Hide the local connection icon

Generally, when you modify the IP address of a computer, you must first find the local connection icon of the system, right-click the icon, and then execute the "attribute" command from the context menu, to enter the TCP/IP parameter settings window. If you try to hide the local connection icon in advance, the common user cannot open the TCP/IP Parameter Setting window to modify the IP address at will. To hide the system's local connection icon, follow these steps.

Because the local connection icon and the system's netmask X. dll, Netshell. dll, Netman. dll is related to the three dynamic link files. Once these three dynamic link files are unregistered, the local connection icon will be automatically hidden. When registering the above three dynamic link files, you can first open the system runtime box and enter the string command "regsvr32Netcfgx. dll/u commands (a space must be reserved between regsvr32 commands and dynamic link files). After you click OK, you can set netmask X. the dll file is not registered;

Re-register the other two files in the same way. After that, restart the computer system and try to open the network and dial-up connection window, the local connection icon disappears.

5. Hiding network neighbors

If you hide the network neighbor icon, you cannot enter the TCP/IP parameter settings window, so that the IP address of the local computer cannot be modified at will. Although there are many ways to hide network neighbors, this article will introduce you to a method that is rarely used at ordinary times-system policy method. This method can be used in any system:

Click "start" and "run". In the "run" dialog box that appears, enter the "poledit" string command and click "OK" to open the system policy editing interface, click the open registry command in the "file" menu;

On the displayed page, double-click the "local user" icon and expand the "local user", "Shell Interface", and "restriction" branches in sequence, select "Hide network neighbors" and click "OK" to return;

Next, on the system policy editing page, click "save" in the toolbar and restart the computer system. As a result, the network neighbor icon on the system desktop disappears.
