Five things should be done after Linux mint 13 is installed

1. After Linux mint 13 is installed, the first thing I want to do is install "essential Installation Software" (such as Google Chrome and smplayer) online ). I am frustrated that, in system Settings> network, I cannot add a DSL/pppoe dialing link! It takes a long time to find it in preferences> network connection. There are three ways to open a network connection:
   • Click the menu in the lower left corner-> preferences-> network connection
   • Press Windows key-> directly type connect-> click Enter to open the network connection.
   • Directly enter the command nm-connection-editor in the terminal
2. Change the software source to a Ubuntu Netease image (the specific domestic source of ubuntu depends on your actual situation ). Since the Chinese Images in the Linux mint software source are CERNET, and my dial-up bandwidth is China Telecom, I came up with the idea of changing the software source. During Linux mint installation, many software packages are obtained directly from the Ubuntu repository. In this case, replace the Ubuntu repository in the apt configuration file with the Ubuntu Netease image.
   1. Run the following command on the terminal to open the apt software source configuration file:

      cd /etc/apt/sudo cp sources.list sources.list.bk.after.installedgksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

   2. Use the following configuration to replace the original content of the sources. list file. The highlighted content is the content I modified. Note: We recommend that you carefully check the differences between the original content and my configuration before replacement, mainly because your sources. list file has added some other software sources.

3. Install Chinese Language Support
   Since there is no network connection available during Linux mint installation, after the installation is complete, the Chinese language support is incomplete and you need to re-check and install the language support after the network connection. Click the menu in the lower left corner-> System Tools-> system settings-> language support, and follow the prompts to complete the operation.
4. Install the NVIDIA private driver.
   Click the menu in the lower left corner-> preferences-> additional driver-> select NVIDIA Graphics Accelerator Driver (version current) [recommended]-> click the activation button.
5. Install the ibus, AGI ibus-googlepinyin and ibus-sunpinyin input methods

   sudo apt-get install ibus ibus-googlepinyin ibus-sunpinyin
