Fix Microsoft ActiveX 0day vulnerability by yourself

Yesterday, Microsoft confirmed an ActiveX-related severe vulnerability in IE6 and IE 7. Although we have not received any infection cases in Vista and Windows 7, however, this does not mean that Vista and WIndows 7 are 100% secure. Microsoft also provided a temporary solution yesterday to disable ActiveX, which is the safest method, but will inevitably affect the use of some plug-ins. It will take some time for Microsoft to release patches. Therefore, you should do it yourself. It is also good to start on your own.
1. Open Security Advisory 972890, scroll to the General Information at the bottom of the page, click Suggested Actions, and expand Workarounds. Now we can see the Class Identifier.

2. Run regedit in WIN + R to open the Registry Editor.

3. Find

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftInternet ExplorerActiveX Compatibility

4. Right-click this branch-Find (Find) and Find the content provided by Class Identifier.

5. If you find the same key value as the Class Identifier, do not delete it because it is useless to delete it.

6. in this case, the Compatibility Flags key Value should be found in the right panel corresponding to the branch. If this key Value is not found, right-click the blank space-New (New)-Binary Value (Binary Value) -rename it Compatibility Flags.

7. right-click Compatibility Flags key Value-Modify (Modify)-In the Edit DWORD Value window, enter 400 under Value data, select Base to Hexadecimal, and click OK.

8. If more than one branch is found in step 5, repeat the preceding operation.
