After an instance is uninstalled, it cannot be reinstalled. The following message is displayed:

After Google for half a day, some say that the uninstallation may be incomplete, so the SQL Server tool to clear the registry is still unavailable. Later, I came to the conclusion that the system can only be reinstalled. There is no other method.

1. According to the product code in the prompt message, put the string in the first segment upside down. For example, the above result is a12f3422;

2. In the registry, search for the above string hkcr \ Installer \ upgradecodes, find it, and delete its parent item;

3. reinstall sqlserver.

If the error message still appears after the reinstallation is completed, the product code may have changed (that is, more than one problem). Repeat the preceding steps until the installation is successful. (This is also the reason why the error message is often prompted after someone tries this method, because there are more than one residual value ).

It is dangerous to modify the Registry. Back up the Registry. before deleting the registry, you are advised to export related items for recovery.
