It is believed that many people will be deeply attracted by the powerful security features of the Windows Server 2008 system, but the security function is too powerful, it is easy to bring many inconvenience to the daily system management operation. This is not when we try in Windows Server 2008 when performing some routine system management operation in the system environment, some traditional system functions can not be found, or the failure of traditional thinking management system will be encountered. As a matter of fact, we can find an effective solution to indirectly implement traditional functions or manage the system successfully according to conventional thinking, as long as we prescribe the right medicine and dig into the Windows Server 2008 system.
1, the realization of traditional parental control functions
As you know, Windows Vista system supports parental control, and is good at using this feature we can easily limit the number of designated user accounts to use the local computer for a specific period of time, and the Windows Server 2008 system was originally used as a server system, given its specificity, The system does not have the traditional parental control function in the design process, so can we not implement the traditional parental control function in the Windows Server 2008 system environment? In fact, if we really want to restrict users to using local Windows Server only for a specified period of time 2008 system, you can indirectly achieve parental control through the powerful command management function of Windows Server 2008 system; For example, the company owner wants to set up an employee Xiaomeng account to access the local windows at nine to six o'clock in the afternoon. Server 2008 system servers, no other time to access the server system, to achieve this control purposes, we just follow the steps below to set up the local Windows Server 2008 system server can be:
First, open the Start menu of the local Windows Server 2008 system server, click the program/attachment/Command Prompt option in turn, right-click the target option, and select the Run as Administrator command from the pop-up right-click menu. Switch the system screen automatically to the DOS command Line Working window;
Second, at the command prompt at the work window, the "NET user xiaomeng/add/times:sa-su,9:00-18:00" String command is entered correctly, and when you click Enter, the prompt for "command completed successfully" is returned on the system screen (as shown in Figure 1). This means that the Windows Server 2008 system server has successfully created a "Xiaomeng" account locally, and when employees use that account to access the Windows Server 2008 Server system, only from Saturday to Sunday 9:0 0-18:00 this time, the other time is not authorized to access the Windows Server 2008 system server, so we cleverly take advantage of the Windows Server 2008 system "net use" command to successfully implement the traditional parental control function.
2. Realize the traditional delay shutdown function
In a working environment where the traditional operating system is installed, if we want to implement a 30-minute delay in shutting down the computer system, simply open the running dialog box for the corresponding systems and execute the Shutdown-s-T 1800 string command. However, when we tried to execute the string command in the Windows Server 2008 System Running dialog box, we found that the corresponding system could not execute the command at all, so does the Windows Server 2008 system not support the delayed shutdown feature? After careful study, The author found that the Windows Server 2008 system can also support the delayed shutdown function, but the maximum latency is 10 minutes, which means that the Windows Server 2008 system is powerless to achieve the shutdown goal of delaying more than 10 minutes! is that true? In fact, we can change our mind, with the help of the Windows Server 2008 system's task scheduling capabilities to achieve the traditional long delay shutdown system features; this does not follow the steps below to make it easy for Windows Server 2008 System Environment implementation delay 30 minutes to shut down the computer system:
First enter the Windows Server 2008 System desktop with system administrator privileges, open the Start menu of the system, click the program/attachment/System Tools option in the mouse, and then select the Task Scheduler option from the subordinate menu. Open the Task Scheduler display interface for the corresponding system, and proceed to the Create Task Settings dialog box on the Windows Server 2008 system by clicking the Create Task feature option at the right position of the display interface.
Next, select the General tab in the Settings dialog box, set a suitable name for the newly created task schedule in the corresponding Options settings page, for example, the author entered the name of the new task in the Name text box of the option Settings page as "delay 30 minutes to shut down the computer";
Next, continue to click the Triggers tab in the Create Task dialog box, also, click the New button on the corresponding Options settings page to open the New Trigger Settings window (shown in Figure 2), where I select "Once" from "Settings" and "Maximum delay time (random delay)" From the Advanced settings location. "Feature options option, while selecting the time of delay to" 30 minutes ", of course, we can change the delay time a bit longer, for example, if you want to change the delay time to 10 days, enter" 10 days "directly in the" task Maximum latency (random delay) "text box; We also need to set the time for the target task to start running, for example, we can set the current task scheduled run time to "2009/6/6 6 o'clock in the afternoon".
Then click the OK button to return to the Create Task Settings dialog box, click the Actions tab, and then click the New button in the corresponding Options settings page, and from the New Action Settings window that appears, insert the "shutdown-s" string command correctly in the program or script at the settings location text box, where the "-S" parameter means shutting down the computer system;
When you check the settings above, and then click the OK button in the Create Task Settings dialog box, save the "delay 30 minutes off computer" scheduled task, so that when we later need to shut down the computer, Just follow the previous steps to open the Task Scheduler display interface for the corresponding system, find the previously created "delay 30-minute shutdown computer" scheduled task, and then double-click to run the target scheduling task, and the Windows Server 2008 system will automatically shut down the local computer in half an hour. In that case, you can indirectly implement the goal of delaying the computer for half an hour; Of course, if we don't run the current task plan manually, the Windows Server 2008 system will automatically run the target task schedule at the time we specify.
