Network cables, from the earliest 10BASE2 coaxial cables to the current twisted pair wires and optical cables, all shoulder the task of data transmission. The data of each network must be transmitted through cables. We can imagine the impact of cable health on the network.
The general network cable is divided into permanent and permanent parts. The permanent part includes a straight line between floors and a horizontal line from the data center to the user location. The constant variation part is the jumper at the user's foot. In the latest 5e and 6 standards, the Standards Board abolished the five-category cabling standard, but the components that specify the Six-category system components must be backward compatible (including three-category and super-five-category cabling products ), at the same time, the hybrid application requirements must be met. When the cat6 cabling system is 200 MHZ, the overall attenuation crosstalk ratio (PS-ACR) should have a large margin, which provides 2 times the bandwidth of cat5e. In order to ensure good electromagnetic compatibility of the entire system, this standard also provides suggestions for matching cables and connectors. An important difference between Category 6 and Category 5 is that it improves crosstalk and ripple loss performance. For a new generation of full-duplex high-speed network applications, excellent return loss performance is extremely important.
The requirements for the permanent twisted pair are very rigorous, which is the requirement of the Standards Board to reduce the pressure on the cable certification test by understanding 6 categories, and to put the testing needs in the permanent part. After the permanent part of the cabling system is installed, the installer must perform a verification test on the permanent part. You only need to add the cat6 or cat5e jumpers that have been certified by the manufacturer before leaving the factory, this ensures that the entire line can meet the relative category indicators. In practice, jumpers are often abused by users and therefore need to be replaced. Based on the new standard requirements, you do not need to retest each patch cord replacement.
Both the DSP-4000 series and the latest DTX series cable-certified analyzers provided by fluke networks have permanent link testing and are available for individual jumper verification testing. Therefore, you can test the permanent and permanent parts during installation. When a problem occurs in the cabling system, the DSP and DTX series also provide automatic fault diagnosis functions. The latest DTX series also provide Chinese and color screen user interfaces and Chinese diagnostic information, it is faster and more convenient to solve faults.
