1. Win10 Body Slimming principle
A big head of the system backup is the Windows.old folder, the main content of this folder is the previous operating system windows, program Files, the users three home folder sum. Windows.old generally depends on the old system size, but at least it will be above 10GB. Most of all, this folder is normally protected by the operating system, it is difficult to clear it under normal circumstances, and then we will use another method to reclaim it.
2. One-click Erase
1) First Open "This computer", note that at this time the C disk free space of about 24.4 GB;
Figure 01 After the upgrade of the C disk space, the free space at this time is about 24.4 GB
2) Right-click on the C drive to select Properties, then click on the "Disk Cleanup" button next to the next, click on "Clean System files" in the popup dialog box;
Figure 02 Click Disk Cleanup
3) The system starts to calculate the free disk space on the C drive;
Figure 03 Starting the calculation of files that can be cleaned
4) As a result, you can see that in addition to the "Previous Windows installation" occupies 11.4GB, there are also 646MB of "Temporary Windows installation Files", which together have taken up about 12GB of disk space, in addition to some sporadic small files, Together, it takes about 12.2GB to total. This is basically the main culprit of the large reduction in the C-disk space;
Figure 04 These two pieces occupy nearly 12GB of disk space
5) After understanding, the rest of the work is much simpler. Tick the file you want to clear (both of which are not checked by default and need to be checked manually by the user), then click the "OK" button, and you will be asked again later if you want to delete the files? Click OK;
Figure 05 again to indicate whether to delete these files
6) After the clean-up and then look at the disk space consumption, is not an instant to become a lot of it!
PS: Sometimes the difference between the disk space before and after the cleanup may not match the size of the file to be purged. This is mainly because the WIN10 run will produce some temporary files, in addition to the system update will generate some garbage, all these will lead to clean up before and after the difference and the size of the purged file, as long as the gap is not very large there is no problem.
Figure 06 This is the disk space when the cleanup is complete, and before you clean it up.
What do you think? It's simple. However, it is necessary to say that after performing the above operation, WIN10 will not be able to roll back to the previous operating system, if the user has the relevant requirements, or recommended careful cleanup.
