But on the Internet and its stability evaluation is not good. Linux Mint's stability and hardware-driven support are better. So I finally decided to install Linux Mint 18.1. But Linux Mint was developed on the basis of Ubuntu.

1. Installation
The installation and drive of Linux Mint is really a fool's style. Download a good Linux mint system image, make a USB flash drive to boot. Better computer boot order, restart, connect the network cable. Then follow the prompts to install it, just as the Windows system installs.

2.Linux System First Experience
Linux systems are very stable and efficient and require very little hardware configuration. This must be great! I have a 07-year Dell Notebook, Win7 system. Boot to 2 minutes, after entering the desktop will not move, so has been at home to eat gray. Linux Mint 18.1 is installed on my 07-year machine! Yes, 07 of antiques. But running is not slow, and even feels faster than the Windows system. Normally turned on, in Windows system, this 07-year notebook fan is crazy. And it's basically quiet under Linux.

2.1 Problems encountered
The installation of the system was smooth and there were no problems. There are two minor problems that need to be addressed after the installation is complete.

(1) Wireless internet access
The system can be wired after installation, but the wireless card has not been shown on. Basic assertion is that the drive is not installed well (07 notebook driver ... hehe), on the Internet to find some technical stickers, first to find out the fundamental problems. In the terminal entered ifconfig-a found only eth0 information. Under normal circumstances should be eth0 (on behalf of Wired Internet), with Wlan0 (wireless internet). In the terminal input LSPCI to find hardware information, found that the wireless network card is Broadcom this brand, online said this is often incompatible with Linux system.

Fortunately, the problem is so common that manufacturers and Linux developers are giving solutions. Enter the two commands in the terminal, and then restart the computer. Then you'll be able to surf the Internet. It is not surprising that this 07-year notebook can also glow in the second spring.

(2) Input method problem
Linux Mint is pre-installed on Linux as the best Chinese input method Fcitx. It is no different from the WIN10, and the request is not high can continue to use. But the switch is not convenient, Ubuntu partnered with Sogou launched the Sogou Linux version. So I also installed the Sogou. But Linux installs the following error:

You ' re currently running FCITX and GUI, but Fcitx-configtool couldn ' t being found, the package name is usually fcitx-config- GTK, FCITX-CONFIG-GTK3 or Fcitx-configtool. Now it would open config file with default text editor.

sudo apt-get install FCITX
The reason is Fcitx input method with Sogou conflict, I uninstalled Sogou. Run sudo apt-get install FCITX-CONFIG-GTK installation FCITX package in terminal, and then reinstall Sogou. And then you're done.

(1) Font rendering
Although Linux runs faster than Windows, it is also more stable. But the interface is far worse than windows, after all, Microsoft Dafa spends a lot of money on UI design every year. The fonts on Linux mint do not have a Microsoft Jache (this can be installed on their own), rendering is not good. Looks like the font has a saw point, hollow. . Looks very tired. read a lot of articles, also rendered several times, but this is still the case. It could be a graphics card or a machine problem.
