1. Introduction
When building a campus network, you often encounter the following problems: a host or LAN in a building cannot be connected to the campus network due to geographical barriers or other reasons. On the other hand, most of the resources on the campus network are for all teachers and students, and the family zone and dormitory are the main places to use. If the campus network cannot be connected, resources will be wasted. So how can we solve these two conflicts? We propose a scheme to build a wireless LAN based on the existing wired campus network, and further expand the original network so that every corner of the campus is in the network, forming a campus network in the true sense. At the same time, we also hope that through campus networks that can be operated, we can make schools "Feed networks" and achieve sound development.
2. Introduction to wireless LAN
2.1 Advantages
During system operation, you only need to connect the wireless network card to your laptop, so that you can freely roam the Internet on campus. You can also use a USB wireless client to connect to a desktop computer. By using a wireless access bridge installed in a building, you can quickly complete network connection without wiring engineering, therefore, it can greatly reduce the time period for activating the network system, and thus reduce related costs and improve efficiency. It is very suitable for the actual situation where the current network construction of university campuses in China requires rapid development and lack of funds.
2.2 Key Technologies
A Wireless LAN (WLAN) is a data communication system that provides Wireless peer-to-peer and point-to-point connectivity. WLAN replaces the twisted pair wires or coaxial lines or optical fiber cables used in conventional LAN to transmit and receive data through electromagnetic waves. The data transmission rate of the wireless LAN has now reached 11 Mbit/s, and the transmission distance can be as far as 20km or more. It is a supplement and extension to the wired network mode, so that the computer on the Internet can be moved, and can quickly and conveniently solve the problem of network connectivity that is not easy to implement using the wired network.
