Adobe Flash Player returns to Linux
GuideAccording to recent news, Adobe finalized a new plan last week to synchronously update Flash Player to the Linux platform, and is already developing a new version. It will repeat and return to the embrace of Linux.
Flash Player
Just four years ago, Adobe once said that it no longer provided a new version of Flash Player using the NPAPI for the Linux desktop platform, but only provided necessary security updates. However, Adobe obviously regrets its previous decisions.
Adobe has changed its mind: on the Linux platform, Firefox can also play Flash content.
Adobe said: "We planned that the Linux version of The NPAPI will be stopped on March 13, 2017. But now this situation has changed. We have started a lot of tests and received a lot of community feedback. We will release the Linux version based on the NPAPI and PPAPI at the same time, upgrade both of them as regular versions in a timely manner."
This means that Firefox users can obtain the latest Flash Player update through the installation package in the future. However, Adobe still recommends that you use the PPAPI Flash Player, this adjustment will focus on security considerations, and some features will not be fully deployed.
I don't know whether Linux users should be happy or frustrated when they see this message.
