I read the book "The breaking Internet revolution" (Mechanical Industry Press, 2009) from beginning to end. It took about an hour or two. Because they are afraid of affecting their families, they spent the middle of the night alone reading them in the toilet.

 

I already know that the marketing campaign of books is fierce, and sales after the market go well. In addition, peers who have their own conformances have said they disagree. So before reading, there are some insights.

 

After reading it, it seems that there are very few gains. Well, let's get down to the truth and start to write a book. Objectively speaking, there is no value in the book "An Internet revolution in progress. At present, there is a lack of books in this field in China, and the current importance of this topic is self-evident. It is better to have a book to explain it. The text is still relatively smooth (after all, I read it in one breath), there are not many hard errors, and the quality of editing is good. The materials in the book are relatively new, as if there were all things in July. It is also comprehensive and rich. Many large websites at home and abroad have covered, such as the theoretical chapter about the sixth degree, let's talk a lot about all kinds of statements and history. The structure should also be said to be okay. A single view of the directory has few flaws.

 

But to be honest, the value of this book is not too great. The content of this book is weak and cannot be supported, at least in comparison to its very successful marketing.

 

First, in general, this book gives a general and systematic explanation of the basic theory and history of the minimum limit for social media websites. The content of the book is more about material organization, without thinking too much about it. The comments and analysis texts are just as simple as they are, and they are rarely their own things, therefore, the lack of the soul, the most important thing for a book that can survive, makes it difficult for readers to gain more benefits.

 

Second, most of the materials are general materials that can be found on the Internet.

 

Finally, in some places, it seems that the same theme material is used too much, repeated, and stacked. For example, the six-degree theory.

 

For me, the gains I gained after reading this book are limited to the development history of some social media websites in China that have been less concerned about before, but even in this respect, it still gives people a bit of water. Value has basically no gain in understanding social media websites. In this regard, the value of this 200-page book is not as good as that of many good blog articles.

 

Of course, in all fairness, these cannot be completely blamed on the authors. After all, the original domestic environment is like this. It is difficult for you to spend a long time focusing on one point, just like the authors who write such books abroad, the collection of various materials includes many first-hand things, such as interviews with many insiders, and then there is a foundation of various disciplines for in-depth analysis. In addition, as far as the topic of the book is concerned, we have a poor foundation in China. The whole industry is basically an imitation of the original, with no accumulation and a lack of deeper things. Therefore, from the perspective of my book planning, it may be said that this book, as an original book, is not satisfactory. But from the reader's perspective, I should be dissatisfied with the book reviews. I still hope that overseas good books with more insightful knowledge can be introduced into China as soon as possible. Of course, the translation is better. It is best to make some localized things, lower the threshold, and put marketing in place.

 

Summary: This book may be of no value to readers who are completely unfamiliar with SNS or who do not know much about social media/Web2.0. But for other readers, it is of little value and should be a book with only a short-term effect.I believe that when there are more books with more profound insights (I feel that books outside China are more likely to take this role as a master, if the original author is from a number of students who have already observed this field in the industry, there may be still some opportunities) When publishing, its historical mission will also end.
