Android deletes the new Android fragment_main.xml and androidmain. xml versions.
In the new version of ADT, two xml files, fragment_main and activity_main, are generated by default when the android project is created.
I suggest you delete the fragment_main file.
1) overwrite the content in the fragment_main.xml file in activity_main.xml.
2) Delete the fragment_main.xml file.
3) Delete the if statement under the onCreate method in MainActivity. java, and the onOptionsItemSelected (MenuItem item) and public static class PlaceholderFragment extends Fragment {}
