Android L Application Design comments: Starting from YouTube, GMail, and Maps (1)

BKJIA: In today's article, we will summarize all the Material design solutions that Google has demonstrated and present them to you.

We have collected a large amount of data from the Android L preview version, but this certainly cannot cover everything about this latest mobile operating system. Android L has made significant changes in the notification bar, settings, calls, and calculators.

To better show you the collection results, we will show you the Material application design solution created by Google in the form of a picture. At the current Google I/O conference, Google disclosed a large number of appearance information closely related to the L system through a series of conversations and Material design guidelines. After systematically sorting out the design instruction documents and I/O dialogs, we hope that the following images will help you better grasp the design examples.

Figure 4-4 shows the email application listed in the Material design document. Figure right: Gmail.

Most of the content is from the Material design guide documents, and most of them are not included in the actual products of the Google brand. You can see this difference. The figure on the left shows that the email application does not have the correct color subject or operation button, and each entry has additional text lines, in addition, this application does not have secondary UI elements such as star and timestamp.

However, the current results include about of the application's "general" version, and what we really need to pay attention to is actually the design style. Google is pushing developers to accept the visual characteristics of their official applications, rather than self-developed visual effects that may conflict with them. Note that these applications are still under development, so the current effect may be different from the final product. In addition, this image collection is just a representative one we have selected, I believe that Android L will have a richer appearance solution for Google Apps later this year.

After reading the list in this article, you can click here to view Google's Android Police website. This site lists some of the Google Play Store display solutions that are still under development and have been redesigned.
