Apple announces first HomeKit smart home appliances to be launched in June

Before that, Fortune reported that Apple HomeKit had a problem and that the first equipment would be postponed. The HomeKit platform allows Apple devices to control networked home appliance products. "Apple's code for controlling small, battery-powered devices requires too much memory and is currently optimizing code to reduce memory requirements," says Fortune.

According to the report, for Apple itself, the company has never said when the HomeKit-compatible device will be listed, but a developer working with Apple on the HomeKit platform says the new product will be ready in May or June.

Apple unveiled a HomeKit at the Global Developers Conference last June to turn the iphone or ipad into a command system for many smart home devices such as thermostats, garage doors or door locks. Apple did not disclose much of the HomeKit operation, but said the platform used a "common protocol" to help communicate between devices, securely connected to the iphone or ipad.

Apple launched its HomeKit hardware certification program last November. Apple's little talk of HomeKit last year raised fears that the implementation of Apple's grand vision might be more complex than the company had previously expected.
