According to the New York Times, the initial statistics on the use of Apple Pay on major U.S. retailers ' platforms show that, although the service is not yet hot, consumers are much more interested in the service than similar products previously launched by Google. The report says many retailers are trying to boost their market competitiveness by adding Apple Pay services to attract consumer attention.

The New York Times reported earlier this week that 1% of the total turnover of Whole Foods, a health food supermarket, was paid through Apple Pay and that users who traded on the iphone had reached 150,000. Similarly, McDonald's, the famous food and beverage brand, McDonald that Apple pay accounted for half of the volume of pay-as-you-Come (Tap-to-pay). Abbott says other companies are incorporating NFC capabilities into their proprietary solutions because of Apple Pay.

The study gives a specific figure on how retailers are using Apple Pay, showing how popular consumers are with the service. Tim Cook, Apple's chief executive, said earlier that Apple Pay had more than 1 million users activating credit cards within 72 hours of its launch.
