Arm force server market pushes 64-bit Processor Architecture (figure)

According to the latest news from foreign media, ARM, a British chip design vendor, recently announced details about the 64-bit architecture processor, according to the new strategic plan, ARM will expand its processor business and enter enterprise application fields such as servers. At present, Intel occupies an absolute monopoly in this market.

ARM said that the ARMv8 architecture not only includes 32-bit processing command systems but also 64-bit, among them, the 32-bit command system has been used on the chips of iPhone 4S smartphones and iPad tablets, after providing support for the 64-bit architecture, users can obtain a larger memory system to process larger files, it is meaningful for scientific research and applications with high requirements for large databases.

Mike Muller, chief technology officer of ARM, said that the new 64-bit ARM architecture will allow ARM's chip partners to get more efficient solutions and ARM will really set sail in the enterprise application market. Currently, ARM's 32-bit low-power processor has occupied most of the market share of smartphones and tablets and is constantly expanding into other markets.

At present, some partners have expressed their willingness to use ARM's 64-bit architecture system products, nvidia said earlier this year that it would develop an ARM architecture processor named "Project Denver" for servers and super computers.
