I. Overview

this chapter records in the implementation process, creating steps for an AWS EC2 instance.

Ii. description

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) provides scalable compute capacity in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. With Amazon EC2 , you can avoid upfront hardware investment, so you can quickly develop and deploy applications. By using Amazon EC2, you can start as many virtual servers as you need, configure security and networking, and manage storage. Amazon EC2 allows you to scale to meet demand changes or spikes as needed to reduce traffic forecast requirements.

Amazon EC2 provides the following features:

  • A virtual computing environment, also known as an instance

  • pre-configured templates for instances, also known as Amazon system images (AMI) , which contains the packages your server needs (including the operating system and other software)

  • Example multiple configurations of CPU, memory, storage, and network capacity, also known as instance types

  • Secure login Information for an instance that uses a key pair ( AWS Stores public keys, you store private keys in a secure location

  • A storage volume, also known as an instance store volume , that temporarily data (which is deleted when the instance is stopped or terminated)

  • Use Persistent storage volumes for Amazon Elastic Blockstore (Amazon EBS) data, also known as amazonebs volumes .

  • multiple physical locations that are used to store resources, such as instances and Amazonebs volumes, also known as zones and availability zones

  • Firewall allows you to specify protocols, ports, and sources that can use security groups to reach your instances IP Range

  • Static for dynamic cloud computing IP address, also known as elastic IP address

  • metadata, also known as tags, you can create metadata and assign to your AmazonEC2 Resources

  • You can create virtual networks with the rest of these networks The AWS cloud is logically isolated, and you can choose to connect to your own network, also known as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

Third, the Operation procedure

Steps Description and

amazon EC2 Amazon EC2 console. If you have already registered for AWS account, you can sign in AWS Admin Console and select EC2

in the On the Instances ( instance ) screen, you can view the status of your instance. Launching an instance takes a short time. When you start an instance, its initial state is pending. When the instance is started, its status changes to running anda public DNS name is received . (If public DNS columns are hidden, click the show/hide ( show / hide ) icon and select Public DNS ( Public DNS)

Amazon EC2 offers the following purchase options for your instance:

On-Demand instances: You only need to pay for the usage instances by the hour, no long-term purchases or prepayments.

Reserved instances: Pay a one-time upfront fee at very low rates, reserve instances for a year or three, and significantly reduce hourly rates for those instances.

Spot Instances: Specify the maximum hourly price that you are willing to pay for running a specific instance type. The bid price will fluctuate with supply and demand, but you will not be charged more than the maximum price you have specified. AmazonEC2 will close your spot instances when the spot price is higher than your maximum price.
