Backup and restore of Windows 2003 AD Database

The real location of the ad database for the Windows Server 2003 system is in \windows\ntds, where Ntds.dit is the primary file for the ad database, Edb.log the change log file for the ad database, Edb.chk is the difference record file for ad database and in-memory ad data, Res1.log,res2.log is the change record file of standby AD database.

Backing up the AD database

To back up the ad database, execute the start/All Programs/attachments/System Tools/Backups command on any DC in the domain. Open Backup Wizard
