Enter the Rman interface

Rman target/rman>

Modify control file backup mode for automatic backup

RMAN > Configure Controlfile autobackup on;

Check if the control file backup is an automatic backup

RMAN > Show Controlfile autobackup;

View Control file Automatic backup path

Rman> show controlfile autobackup format;

Modify control file Automatic backup path

RMAN > Configure Controlfile autobackup format for device type disk to '/backup/orcl/%f ';

Note that%f is a dbid+ date that can be used to identify the time and dbid

Manually backing up control files

Backup current controlfile format '/backup/orcl/control_%d_%t_%s_%p.bak ';
