Block Storage view status data
This article is excerpted from the book Ding Jie Niu: vertically cutting ASP. NET 3.5 controls and component development technology
If the amount of data in the hidden domain is too large, some proxies and firewalls will block access to pages containing the data. Because the maximum number varies with the firewall and proxy used, large hidden domains may encounter unexpected problems. If you need to store a large number of data items, you can open the view status block, which will automatically split the data into multiple hidden fields.
The ASP. NET Framework provides the maxpagestatefieldlength attribute to get or set the maximum length of the Page Status field. The property value indicates the maximum length of the Page Status field, in bytes.
Microsoft official website and many articles said that by setting the page. the maxpagestatefieldlength attribute can specify the maximum number of bytes of a block, and msdn clearly states that this attribute is public. In VS 2005 and vs 2008, the test result is that this attribute is not found under page, therefore, the configuration file web. in config, as follows:
<System. Web>
<Pages maxpagestatefieldlength = "100"/>
<System. Web>
When the maxpagestatefieldlength attribute is set to a positive number, the view status sent to the client browser is divided into multiple hidden fields, and the value of each field is smaller than the size specified in the maxpagestatefieldlength attribute; if the maxpagestatefieldlength attribute is set to negative (default), the view Status field should not be divided into multiple block areas. In addition, if you set maxpagestatefieldlength to a very small value, the performance will be reduced.
